bamaboy 0
I've tried searching for the old post that shows how someone installed Tapco T48 hand guards on their Saiga. Can any one help me find it please or tell me how it was done? Has anyone tried FNC, FAL, or maybe HK hand guards?
Onepoint 0
I have adapted Cetme wood handguards by shortening them. It works, not too crazy for the look though. Edited January 25, 2006 by Onepoint
BattleRifleG3 16
Can do a FAL or G3 style wooden handguard for S-308. Let me know if you're interested via PM or E-mail.

I wonder if this could be done with a wide HK hand guard, I bet if you painted that one black with a textured Finnish it would more in place.
BattleRifleG3 16
What about this?
Onepoint 0
I did that one before G3 did his wood handguards to use with a wood thumbhole stock. Its OK, didn't look too bad, but I went to a metal stock and used the factory handguard anyway. It may be possible to use a HK plastic handguard depending on how they are constrcted, a lot of plastic handguard are thin behind where they mount up front and wont hold up if you shorten them. I think I had to cut a little over an inch off when I did that one. So its one of those things you have to look it over to know.
uzitiger 193
What about this? Nice handguards 'BattleRifleG3', that makes another US part to your Saiga. How much are you asking for them? I wouldn't mind having one on my 7.62x39 Saiga. I prefer the full length hand guards on the Saigas to the AK style ones. They protect the hands better when the barrel is hot. My friend who uses a leather glove to shoot his Soviet AK because it gets too hot to handle, I don't have to do the same with my Saiga. BattleRifleG3 16
If you check out the S-12 styles I have in the for sale section, I have similar ones on the way for the S-308, if you're just looking for a long style. If G3 style is what you're going for, I've had most folks ignore it, but one guy specially request a total of three. Here's a pic of his order.
