OldeTSgt 2
I was able to buy a basic conversion of a Saiga 5.45X39 rifle - It shoots awesome but I want to make it more AK like - I have sorta gleaned that I need to get some sort of bracket to bolt on (I am not tool rich or mechanically inclined enough to cut off and re-install front sight base and gas block) and a new gas tube . What bracket do you recommend and once done what is the best polymer furniture to get - I like solid stocks and regular AK hand guards in Flat Dark Earth - I am not concerned with a quad rail since if I run a scope I will get the mounting bracket that hooks to the side of the receiver. Then I need to cut off the barrel shroud and tap and thread it for a muzzle brake - I wonder what is the best traditional looking muzzle brake you recommend Thanks for everything
Sdustin 578
Dinzag makes a lower handguard retainer you'd need that and an akm upper gas tube and handguard set for the front end. Has the trigger been moved or is the rifle in factory condition?
Spacehog 2,218
Here is the lower handguard retainer you will need: http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/css-bracket-ak.htm DInzag and a couple of other vendors offer similar options The Saiga factory gas tube will need to replaced to allow the upper hand guard to be installed. Look for an Ak-74 gas tube, but an AKM will work with a little fitting. As far as hand guards go, check our Kvar or similar offerings. Once you add the lower HG retainer and replace the gas tube, any standard AK furniture will fit.
OldeTSgt 2
All the back end conversion work was done - just need to work on the front end conversion now
Sdustin 578
Well there ya go. I think dinzag makes some different options for the front sight.
