I see a pattern with more to come as Panic 2014 sets in

Recommended Posts

March 2014 7n6 imports banned without warning.

July 2014  Russian firearms imports banned without warning.

If you think this is all by chance guess again? I expect all Russia ammo will be next to be banned from import without warning and soon. Then the rest of Combloc surplus items.

The Liberal retards are over joyed with these bans and eager for more ! Time to ammo up if you haven't already done so.

The times are a changing sadly !

Its just baby steps in the direction of their own agenda. See they start out small. It doesnt seem small to us because on these forums and others like AKfiles, we are the majority of the consumer for these types of weapons and ammo.  The larger gun crowd isnt making much noise because they dont care, or dont know, but it is coming for theirs too. Slowly but surely.  They start small then will slowly work their way around the table. Getting rid of more and more firearms anyway they can.  When they take the bigger steps it will be too late, they will all wake up one morning just like we did and there will be new EOs.

Yeah Darth I am not even sure buying more ammo at this point is wise, may be better places for that money if one has been stockpiling for years.

We have at least another year and a half of this and I doubt seriously the next batch, if there is a next batch, will be any better and probably worse given how screwed up this rock has become.

No one knows really what to do at this point though plenty will claim to know.

Interesting times

I'm actually pretty happy that I don't have any money to spend as this "panic" unfolds. I was able to stock up a few things I needed at "alright" prices last fall.

So... I have no panic... Not because I'm so well supplied, but because I can't play anyhow.  It's a strange situation to be happy about being broke but it is shockingly waaay less stressful than the last wave of panic when I DID have money. :)

couldn't have said it better myself. I'm just sitting back and enjoying the show. Watching the panicee's panic is kind of amusing now.

Well, I'm not amused by people getting hosed and panic buying, I'm just relieved to be out of the game.

I feel bad for people that are just getting into some of this stuff like I was in 2008/9. Everyone knows that Barack is bad for guns, but there isn't a crystal ball telling us when he's going to decide to screw us over, illegally or not. What's a guy to do? Most people can't afford to buy an expensive firearm AND 10,000 rounds at the same time.

The writing has been on the wall for a long time. Those that are panic buying now can only blame themselves (unless they just turned 18 this year).

So it was my fault for not being turned out to Saigas and AKs until right before everything exploded? Seems harsh, Darth...

On the plus side, an EO is more easily reversed than a law passed by congress.

very very unlikely..bush 2 did allow some sks rifles to come in after 2000 but were they the chi com stuff..no..klintons Eo's were not recinded and what we got were decent yugo's..

With respect Maxi, it is hard to imagine anyone not seeing this coming. The only way that makes sense is if someone has made the decision to not pay attention. In that case, who is to blame?

the issue here is red army imports were too cheap to purchase..couple that with putin shoving a lawn chair up zero's ass at every turn and well we end up here...heads up..cheap ammo imports are next (i still have norinco x39 marked at $1.50 for 25 bought back in the day-22lr was 89Cents for 50)..bank on it

Helen Keller could have seen this one coming. The U.S. and half of Europe has been putting sanctions on Russia for how long now ? Then a commercial airliner gets shot down over the Ukraine. No crystal ball needed here.

There are still plenty of good AKs on the market for reasonable prices. Only the Russians are blowing up.

There is no reason other than emotion to pay panic prices at the moment.

I don't have a single Russian gun and I don't feel remotely concerned about that.

So those that are panic buying can only blame themselves.

But this is another wake-up. What was available yesterday is not today. What is available now will not be tomorrow.

Ever hear of the grasshopper and the ant?

In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing doing mag dumps into a burm to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil a tin of ammo he was taking to the nest.

"Why not come and shoot with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"

"I am helping to lay up munitions for the nuclear winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."

"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; "We have got plenty of Russian AKs and cheap ammo at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.

When the winter came the Grasshopper had no ammunition and found itself dying under the oppression of tyrannical government - while it saw the ants distributing every day, hole up from a defensive position from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew: It is best to prepare for days of need.

I dunno... I personally found out about the S-12 on youtube, came on the forum for a few weeks and browsed (and learned a little about the politics), and then went down and bought one. I had nearly NO idea of how deep the politics behind the entire movement were. If you want to call me a moron for finding the weapon first and the politics second, then I guess I'll accept that. I would think MOST new owners buy the gun first then find out later they're hosed.

I'm not defending people who just sat around waiting for the sky to fall to do something about it, what I'm saying (and did say) is that I feel bad for the guys that just got into these guns. For the past several months the prices have been attractive to new shooters again for the first time in a long time. Hopefully this situation will make them activists and not just victims. That's pretty much what it did for me as you may recall my various fundraising efforts for GOA/NRA and I became a lifetime member of both.
