Investment question. Saiga OEM folder. Panic yada yada.

Recommended Posts

Probably not the best time to buy one. I noticed that somehow a SGL-12 got into this country. I have an old port st lucie import that Tac-47 did up for me to be as close to the original gen-1 saiga as possible. This is my shooter and I cherish and trust it under all conditions with any ammo.

My idea was to buy a stock one for an investment. That wont happen now with the Obamanation sanction on Russian imports. A stock saiga is going for about 800 bucks around Montana. Darn!

So, I see that you can get a SGL-12 for about 1800 bucks! 7 years ago, I would have gladly paid that for a real one. I think the other unicorn was a 12-K that was russian police. Similar in many ways.

Would 1800 be a silly investment? It would be a hard one to put away and have appreciate NIB. But, the TAC-47 would fill the void. Pistols are fun as an investment because they take up a smaller space. Kinda like a gold coin or a bar of silver. Heck, even ammo is like a silver dollar these days. A shotgun takes up a lot of space and you have to store the box too. But, the returns on pistols are not so great anymore. Seems that the long rifle is the most targeted by the liberals as they finally figured out what law abiding shooters already know. A pistol is for fighting your way back to your rifle. They don't want to stop inner city crime, they want to disarm the Americans to make us socialists.

Anyway, What do you guys think? 1800 retarded for the real deal folder? Don't plan to run my MD drums in it. Just the 5 and 8 oem mags.

Might even turn out to be my son's some day. Who knows. Maybe my son's bail money! smile.png

Had a chance to buy a rare 12-C once. Wish I had.

Would you even mess with it or leave it be right out of the box. I guess you can find a spec compensator online?

My old import has the cool riot configuration sight rail on top. Handy if you grew up shooting grouse and trap. Feels like home.

If you want it, and can swing it, get it. Its likely only going to get more expensive from here on out.

I was hoping someone else would think the same way. Even if it dropped down a little while Obama was being impeached, it would probably spike back up in it's OEM configuration.

Here an original 12 C that sold here awhile back for around the same price I was gonna buy one for. The one I was looking at was owned by another fellow member who also had the LEO Only factory 8rd mags and it had a sweet brake perm. installed. Really wish I'd been able to get the funds together he was the same guy that sold me my first S-12 (in my avatar) before I converted it with AK wood in 2005.

Soooooo?

Well, as I get older, I take more time to research and it seems to pay off.

This model was imported by FIME group and they put american parts on it. So, I guess it's not a real russian LE model. Just an LE with a fancy quad rail (US) and other stuff put on with a nice russian stock. I'd rather get a Tromix. Already have the Tac47!

Still looking for a ghost!
