imarangemaster 315
A coworker of mine recently sold his Chinese MAK90 and Norinco AKS he had due to extreme financial problems. I asked him if he sold his ammo, too. He said no, but would see what he had left. Today he came to work with a bag of 150 Chinese steel core rounds on 10 round strippers. It is lacquer coated, with red sealant around the primers and case mouth. The headstamp appears to be "31" over "73", but my eyes suck, so I will need to get a magnifying glass to check it. I told him I get Russian at Wally world for $0.25 a round, so I would give him $0.30 a round because it had strippers. $45 later, I had 150 rounds. The cheapest I see steel core Chinese 7.62x39 on Gunbroker (when you can find it) is $0.60 to $0.70 a round, so I did OK. I know it is a mild steel core, not true AP, but I will still keep one mag of it in my snatch and grab AK 5 cell mag bag.
chevyman097 2,579
Nice score. Good old vintage ammo. And maybe you can flip it for something better in the future.
imarangemaster 315
In the 90s I had cases and spam cans of this stuff, as well as Com-block surplus in Spam cans. Sold it all of when I sold my Type 56 in 2000. Wish I had it now! The copper washed Chinese steel core was VERY accurate.
