SuRrEaLNJ 182
I am looking for a muzzle device for my saiga conversion. I kind of want something with a shorter overall length. A few that have caught my aye are the manticore arms night break, damage industries break and slr sr47. I've looked at reviews on all of them but haven't seen much in the way of a side by side or even reviews by the same person. I was wondering if anyone can help provide some input on any of the above relative to the others. I am under the current impression that the strongest part of the sr47 is strictly it's length and a single chamber is better then no break, that the manticore arms is going to be the most effective and the damage industries is smaller and cheaper but in the middle of the other two. Can anyone else confirm this?
JESS1344 508
SuRrEaLNJ, CHECK OUT THE PRIMARY WEAPONS FSC-47, AND THE SOLAR TACTICAL F.A.S.T. BRAKE. THE F.A.S.T. BRAKE IS AS GOOD AS THE FSC-47 IN RECOIL REDUCTION, BUT THE FSC IS BETTER IN FLASH REDUCTION. JESS1344
paprotective 362
I shot the Damaged Ind Brake/Comp (the one with no top holes) on a 16" Yugo 762x39 and it does cut the kick over the factory 'slant'.. With the coupon it was $17.81 shipped.. I ordered 2 more.. 1 for my incoming Saiga 762x39 and 1 for my buddies Yugo UF..
SuRrEaLNJ 182
the fcs47 is listed as a flash suppressing compensator i noticed, which is potentially enough to give it a problem here, counts as an evil feature. i can get away with the one on my mini 14 as its the rifles only evil feature but wouldnt chance it on an ak variant here. similar with the fast break, if they ever release anything that can work with that slot it could become a no go here. The pws Jtac 47 would be an option though
paprotective 362
if I recall being in NJ would require you to pin and weld whatever choice as you can't have threaded barrels. I know that Bushy sells NJ AR's with pin and welded brakes.

The pws Jtac 47 would be an option though From their website: PWS FSC47 Flash Suppressing Compensator The PWS Flash Suppressing Compensator (FSC) Series of muzzle devices from PWS provides superior compensation characteristics combined with enough flash suppression to keep the flash out of your optics and line of sight. Designed for both competitive and tactical use, the FSC Series allows for superior muzzle stabilization and aids the shooter in faster follow-up shots and accuracy. The unique port design of the FSC Series yields muzzle control that meets or exceeds the performance of the best muzzle brakes on the market without the teeth-rattling overpressure indicative of other brakes and compensators. All of the FSC Series muzzle devices have been classified as a non-flash suppressing device by the BATFE, thus removing any restriction from assault weapon ban states or provinces. A copy of this document is available upon request or on our website at www.primaryweapons.com. If ATF says its not a flash suppressor that should be good enough to trump state issues. PROTECTANDSERVE, I'M REMINDED OF THE OLD SAYING: YOU MIGHT BEAT THE RAP, BUT YOU WON'T BEAT THE RIDE. IT IS NEW JERSEY....... Protectandserve 6
^Ahh Jersey is likely Cali on steroids when it comes to gun-phobia craziness.
SuRrEaLNJ 182
yes anything in nj would need to be pinned and welded. most of our wording id vague, and many things are left unclear, so people look at the laws with varying degrees, the best interpretation ive been able to get is regardless of the atf's position on something if someone from NJ can misconstrue it then err on the side of caution, ie a brake that suppresses flash by chance is ok, but one that advertises that should be viewed with caution as it could be held against you unit2814, i checked lantac's site and it said that was listed as pre oreder so id doubt much first hand experience YWHIC, i too am curious on the unported vs ported
paprotective 362
I don't like top porting is all.. and extra gasses going up.. For say my VEPR 54R I did the top ported comp by JP Cooley.. that worked very well.. and with a 21" barrel.. no worries on the gasses.. LoL
JESS1344 508
YWHIC, I PUT AN FSC-47 ON MY '54R VEPR WITH THE THOUGHT THAT IT WAS MADE TO WORK AT UTMOST EFFICIENCY WITH '39 GAS VOLUME AND PRESSURES, SO IT SHOULD WORK REALLY WELL WITH INCREASED '54R GAS VOLUMES AND PRESSURES. SEEMS LIKE IT KICKS ABOUT LIKE A '39 GUN, BUT ADMITTEDLY I'M NOT REAL RECOIL SENSITIVE. WOULD HAVE USED THE FSC-30, WHICH IS LONGER AND HAS ANOTHER "STAGE" TO IT, BUT THEY DONT MAKE IT IN 14X1LH (ANOTHER IGNORED REQUEST). JESS1344
