cw_mi 1
First off let me say I'm not a patient person, If I spent the time with this gun I'm sure I could get it running. I just rarely get time to get the rifles and shotguns out. I've had it out 3 times with a total of 60ish rounds of various types (non of them Magnum) without a single one properly ejected or fed. They either stove pipe or just don't feed correctly (factoty mags) . After the second outing I changed the gas ring and that didn't change anything. I've just lost interest in this project...If anyone is interested in this send me an email at scarabchuck@aol.com
james lambert 3,059
gas ring would do nothing who built th gun? were the mags tuned to the bolt. did the op system get any work how is the gun sprung what is the port size what has been done to the barrel Given correct ammo these guns run great when built properly, and the mags are tuned
cw_mi 1
Jim, That is why I'm not blaming the gun. I've seen plenty of videos of perfectly great running ones. I purchased an XN, then the billet lower (assembled) and pieced it together myself. Other than that and the gas ring it is "as is" out of the box.
james lambert 3,059
well I could help you to get it running. all you have to do is call me or bail out and go another way, up to you

How many company's have to make after market parts to make the BR99 work? People have a choice, MKA or BR99 One runs out of the box & the other doesn't,

james lambert 3,059
first of all maybe one out of 5000 people who have a br99 are on this forum. I have worked on the br99 from the VERY first ones imported. I know them pretty well the QC on the br99 is in its infancy, the mk has had several years to improve its consistancy The br99 uses the akdal or (pre-xn) design (just why do you think it changed?) The br99 is not yet manufactured in very large numbers, and several independant shops make individual parts that does not lead to great QC in its self. Most of the parts people manufacture for the MKA have NOTHING to do with (making it work) every part I have made for the MKA has a counterpart for the BR99. you have experiance with ONE count em ONE freekin gun That counts for JACK SHIT Plenty of br99s have problems Plenty of MKAs run fine out of the box Lastly....they are both basicly the same gun And by the way...THE MKA is not currently imported your first post was just rediculous Your second is assinine and I used two SSs in asinine just for you

I wouldn't trade my MKA for 10 Saigas…but thats just me. Neither of mine ran 100% out of the box, but a little TLC from Jim and some mag tuning and things started looking much better

grima 15
I spoke with the UK importer today & asked him for honest feedback on the BR99. 1, Shipment's & Spares? -- Regular shipment's, full stock of spares (easy to get) 2, Any shotguns returned? -- One (scratched on receiver) 3, Any Major parts that have broke? -- None 4, Signs of any repeating faults or failures? -- We would have stopped importing if there was. 5, Customer feed back (do they work)? -- Feed back has been very good. 6, Will you continue to import them? -- Yes, for a cheap shotgun they are good value. This time I spoke to a ORGAN GRINDER not a MONKEY. Only one patch of MKA's landed & we didn't want any more (because they were shite) Jim, grow up you sound like the Hitler of MKA/BR's (a lot of noise & you will loose the war)

rapidrpr 3
I have two mka1919 pre xn and xn. both have most of the mods done to them. both of them run fine with the right shells.but when the zombies come I will pick up my saiga
ShadowFire 220
Uhh, my XN is still running "out of the box". I've got so many projects going on that I don't even have all the aftermarket stuff I want. I'm also almost tempted not to do anything with it except a different rear sight. I have a gob of factory mags too which I plan to upgrade to a higher capacity, all of them... They all run, bone stock. The only time they don't run is when I forget that when I tap the bottom of the mag to ensure proper seating, that it messes up the seating and jams the shotgun. So I train to Tap and then grab and pull down. If the mag is locked in, it won't budge except for a few thousandths of an inch and that's good enough to ensure proper seating and locking of the mag. The XN worked reliably out of the box for me, I found out it was my dumb rear end that was the issue as I was having to get used to a new design. It was still in that brief moment of fail and learn that out of the box it was still more reliable than my Saiga 12 which refused at the time to cycle low brass ammo. I have since solved that issue without the need for aftermarket parts and love my S12 as well. So, the XN can work out of the box but like every other gun, sometimes a person gets a dud. That's a Quality Control issue. Somebody missed one and too many and it may be the answer needs to be an adjustment of the company's Quality Assurance. Manufacturing can be a pain sometimes... SHOTGUN MESIAH 855
The MKA is great right out of the box. The only reason I did all the mods to mine was because I don't like polymer or plastic on a gun.(especially a shotgun) and once I started the mod's I couldn't stop ……but she is all done now and one hell of a neat shotgun. money well spent. lsxevo 9
some may be on the ground.... so leme get this straight, the 399 br99 at century isnt a good deal? im late to the party You talking about the centerfire systems deal for $399? I feel its a great deal for a decent shotgun to "play around" with. I paid $700 for my first MKA back in the day. So in comparison the BR-99 at $399 is just a stupid good deal. I picked up two for myself just in case....... Also, Jim makes a lower for the BR-99 now so if a person wanted to trick it out then thats an option as well now. toothandnail 275
It's a heck of a good deal, I'll probably get a few myself again. We get quite a few calls from guys with problems Although, IMO the fire sale price also says a lot about where this model is headed.
