most current VEPR order update

Recommended Posts

Dear Valued Customer,

We were notified late Friday of last week that there has been a further delay in getting a release letter on the Vepr firearms shipment. As such, we wanted to update you regarding our ability to ship your Vepr 12 order.

Over the past couple of weeks we have sent you weekly e-mails chronicling our inability to get the firearms that we were promised released by the importer ( see threads below ). These firearms were held up of course due to the Obama administrations unexpected executive order concerning certain products coming out of Russia.

The importer has always maintained that they had every confidence that their paperwork would soon clear any obstacle at the State Department and that they would receive a clearance letter allowing them to release the rifles to the market place, without fear of future retribution.

While they still contend that they have confidence of getting a future release, the process has experienced a complication that will continue to delay the release for the immediate future.

Here is what we are being told...

The Office of Foreign Assets Control, or OFAC., is the division within the State Department that oversees these types of commerce issues. According to the importer, OFAC requested documents from the Russian manufacturer of the Veprs, that would verify the paperwork submitted by the importer.

When OFAC received these documents, they perceived some of the language contained in the Russian documents to be contradictory to what was submitted by the importer. The importer contends that it is a matter of interpretation and that it should be able to be easily explained and straightened out, but in the mean time it has created a further delay.

In the past, the importer has always been confident in giving us a target date for shipping, which we have always passed on to you. That was simply the best we could do.

Based on this latest delay, they are no longer confident in giving us a near future target date and they are telling us they will update us weekly as to the status of the order as they continue to work to get the governments blessing.

Having said that, they still say they have a high level of confidence that the shipment will eventually be released, but they have realized that they simply have no control over the government or the pace with which they will complete their review.

This is obviously not ideal for anyone, and we have already apologized in the past and will continue to do so.

We still contend, that if this shipment is released that the wait will have been worth it and you, the customer, will end up with a firearm that has gone up dramatically in value while waiting to be released.

However, we understand that this wait is aggravating and to some may be unacceptable. We also understand that we have been sitting on your money for quite some time now without being able to send the product.  As such, we will absolutely understand if you wish to cancel the order and receive a refund.  Simply notify us and we will get the refund issued right away.

If you wish to continue to wait, your investment is safe. You can cancel and request a refund at any time and we will place the funds back on your card immediately. We will also notify you at least weekly with any updates we have, and of course immediately if and when the firearms are released.

Again, we sincerely regret the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your patience as we continue to try to bring you these highly desirable firearms.

Respectfully,

Classic Firearms
