Wagnikov 186
When you drift out mag release pin follow it with a similar size pin that has been cut to length so it is only the width of the mag release and the two "ears" on the reciever. Magwell will come right off without ever having to fight the mag release and that $&@&&*£%+ Spring! Lol I just got this gun and did not do the conversion on it, for those of you that noticed the trigger guard install.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
The term for that is slave pin. The same technique can be used swapping out a mag catch and spring. I noticed that crazy looking trigger guard. It is glaringly apparent that the installer's strong suit is not attention to detail. At least they didn't weld it on. Wagnikov 186
Thanks for the input Evl. I'm sure you got a lot more to add than I do. Just kinda decided to start snapping some pics during my builds. Even though most everyone knows this stuff. Little tips n tricks like these make DIY much more enjoyable. If it helps one person it's worth it to me. As you know after doing something for a while, not much seems mind-blowing! But to someone new this could save hours. I thought it was very helpful and that is exactly how I do it. As simple as it may seem to you, this beats the socks off of some of the stickies here. Hours? This could save them from smashing something in frustration after an evening of failed attempts, lol. The only thing I would add is how to use a shorter pin to get the mag catch and spring back in after letting it all fly out of there. I'm sure that most people who would do a search for this topic have already goofed. Edited September 22, 2014 by evlblkwpnz
