What AFTERMARKET spare saiga/vepr parts would you like to see become availible for sale? The poll is multiple choice so vote for all you would like to see availible for purchase and lets get this done! I left out 7.62x39 and 5.45 extractors since they are already widely availible.

Good luck with that.

There has already been 7.62x54r and .308 saiga/vepr extractors made and for sale(Hardend steel not cast like the factory piece). And stainless firing pins complete with spring and collar in .308 made and sold. I know a few members here have purchased them. Unfourtanetly the manufacturers are hesitant to produce more without significant demand(20+). But supposedly they would produce whatever is in demand. Who here wants their rifle/shotgun rendered useles by a extractor, extractor spring or firing pin?

An excellent post and thank you. I was not aware that anybody had made up custom Saiga 308 extractors and spring loaded firing pins. About 5-6 years ago, I tried to have some made up along with Saiga 308 and Saiga 12 95% bolt heads along with 100% Saiga 12 And Saiga 308 extractors, but nobody wanted to do it cheap enough. I was quoted $500 for a bolt head and a minimum of 20. $Ouch$

Anyhow, I started to make my own Saiga 308 extractor. Never got going on it. Too much other stuff to do. Can anybody steer me to the place or person who can provide a Saiga 308 spring loaded firing pin and finished Saiga 308 extractor? Also the Saiga 12 extractors? Also, does anybody know how much these will $cost$? I also would like to see some factory Saiga critical spare bolt parts.

I shouldve put aftermarket spare parts in the title. Anybody know if I can edit the actual thread title? Or maybe a mod can add aftermarket to the title?

I think we all share a common need for these parts that have been pretty much unavailible from the factory. HB of CJ, I wish I had the resources to make these parts availible. The best I think we can do is show that there is a demand and hopefully they will answer with supply. The extractors last time I checked were only being made in 7.62x54r and .308 and last I heard were sold out. The guy making them was waiting on demand to produce more so he could run batches of 20+ for cost reasons. The extractors were selling for $27 each. He did mention he would look into doing 12g extractors in the future, based on demand. They were machined from tool steel I believe and heat treated. From reports Ive seen people were very happy with them. Since he sold out he said he was going to remove them from his site as to not advertise a unavailible product. My goal here is to gauge demand and forward the results to him and hopefully get these parts made.

The firing pins were offered by another guy in .308 only last I heard. They are the complete assembley with firing pin in stainless, firing pin spring, and retaining collar. Im not sure on the price but they werent "cheap".

Since these two suppliers are not board sponsors I will refrain from naming them in this thread but I will send you a pm , HB of CJ with info on how to contact them.

Hopefully with expressed demand we can get these guys or even some of the board vendors to step up and produce these relatively simple parts.

Have the firing pin and spring (no it wasnt cheap), extractor and spring would be great though the spring seems a common size to me.

Ill have to compare a ak47 and or ak74 extractor spring to a 12g etc. But I dont doubt theyre the same. Ive heard that 7.62x39 and 5.45 ak pins will work in saiga/veprs of the same caliber, but you lose the spring feature and could have slamfires.

How does the aftermarket pin compare to the factory pin Rhodes?

Recovering from a PC crash and signed in incorrectly.

You mean the firing pin spring or the extractor spring? In the latter it would be a matter of finding one that works well enough. The FP itself seems well made.
