Matthew Hopkins 1,065
a couple of weeks back I was going to a few garage sales, looking for quality old tools that were made in the USA back in the day and anything that is useful. when I came upon a unopened tin of 7.62x54r Hungarian light ball (148gr). price 40 bucks, asked if there was anymore ammo, nope just that. oh yeah I'll take that fast forward to this past weekend we were set up at a gun show in Akron, it was really, really slow. so toward the end of the day on saturaday, I was walking down past the tables in our aisle just killing time, when I saw a 75 round ak drum for 50 bucks!, I knew the vendors and asked, "you mean to say that sat there all day and nobody bought it?". "yep, except one person picked it up and said wow, that's a good price, put it down and walked off" since the show sucked for vendors, and it wasn't because of prices were astronomical, I asked will he take 40 bucks for it. wasn't really expecting him to say yes, and I was ready to pay that 50 bucks, but when he did say yes, I took that puppy home with me that afternoon. I don't know which country made it, but it isn't blued, has a parkerized finish to it I guess the guys are waiting for the panic to hit, so that they can pay the very high stupid tax for guns, magazine etc.... because passing up on a deal like that you have to be brain dead deals can still be found, for now. if you're not taking advantage of it, you're stupid. Capt Nemo 882
Does the drum have a triangle with a 36 in it near the winding tab? If it does, it's a pre-ban Norinco! Value ~ $150. If it doesn't have any markings it's probably Korean.
Matthew Hopkins 1,065
there isn't any markings on it
csspecs 1,987
What do the welds look like? You can tell the Korean ones from the tiny little welds. Chinese are made with welds about the same size as normal AK mags.

storm6490 2,768
Nice! Sadly, our gun "shows" are mostly all dealers now because of the high price of a table and the 5 dollar entry fee for buyers to get in. You also have to check and clear your weapons at the entrance. Very strange. Most of the stuff is used, neglected crap at very high prices. Nobody is willing to deal much. News travels slow in Montana and apparently, they thing the" Assault Weapons ban " never expired. Every time I go, some doughnut eating informant or undercover asks me how to convert a weapon to fully automatic. I show them the parts they need and how to and then inform them that it isn't worth the federal prison time and that only a cop needs more than one round to hit their target.

Think it's been listed at that price for a few weeks. This is MA, though, so anything is possible
