I cant say I like it,  the SB15 looks more like a buttstock.

I agree, I like the look of the SB15 better as well, but it is good that they are coming out with new designs. The biggest issue I have with both is the height of the rear of the brace. Needs to be shorter.

GUYS,

TRY THIS, FOLD THE FLAPS IN ON EACH OTHER, AND CINCH DOWN THE FACTORY STRAPS TIGHT.

THEN WORK THE LOOSE END OF THE STRAP BACK THROUGH AND UNDER THE BUCKLE.

THEN, USING A SMALL SET OF SURGICAL HEMOSTATS, CLAMP ONTO THE LOOSE END OF THE STRAP, AND BY TWISTING THE HEMOSTATS ROUND AND ROUND, ROLL UP THE LOOSE END OF THE STRAP INTO A TIGHT LITTLE ROLL.

IF IT EVER LOOSENS UP, JUST SNUG IT UP AGAIN, WITH THE HEMOSTATS.

THIS ALLOWS A MUCH MORE COMPACT PACKAGE, AND STIFFENS IT UP SUBSTANTIALLY.

There is some concern/ scuttlebutt about that any alteration to the brace as is and using it from the shoulder could be viewed as an illegality since any alteration will not allow usage as a brace. Just saying.

I have zero problem shouldering it.  But. I will not poke the bear by altering it.  IMO, if you're gonna wad it up, you could have just as easily used a foam padded buffer tube and probably been more confortable.

I would say that you might have a point if it was permanently altered, ie. fill in the opening with plastic etc... and secure it to the "flaps",  but what jess did was not a permanent  alter. in any event  if you feel unsure then don't do it to yours, if you have one

I fired a friend of mine 7.5 inch AR pistol with that brace on my shoulder and for me it was just fine the way it was. which is why I'm assembling a 7.5 in pistol and putting that brace and having one of my very own :)

Very cool and thank you. What the Lord gives, the Lord can take away. Lord in this case meaning the Duke or Earl or the King. That guy. In this case the august BATFE. This seems too good to be true. Now wondering out loud how long it will last and when will the BATFE simply change their mind and make them all ILLEGAL! Then what? Dunno. HB of CJ (old coot)

ya bettcha smile.png, I'm getting this type of upper from a company called SHERLUCK that does the shows here in NE ohio.

Pistol_5.jpg

then I'm going to get the LAWTACTICAL AR folding stock adapter and put that on it, that gives a extra 2  inches or so  length, not to mention it will give the pistol even more of a compact storage biggrin.png

The MPX is not blowback.  It's a piston gun.  That's going to make it very fast cycling with a much lighter bolt.  EDIT.  Yep, just watched a vid of the MPX smg firing.  Empties a 30 round mag in less than 2 seconds.

It's totally AR compatible, with mag release, safety, bolt catch, and charging handle in the same configuration.  It even uses an AR trigger group!  And it looks like it uses an AR pistol grip also.

I don't see how I'm going to resist both the MPX and the 556xiR pistol.

Damn you Sig.  Stop making me love you!

JAG,

THERE IS A COPY OF AN ATF LETTER ON THIS SITE, SOMEWHERE, THAT OK'S THE USE OF THE "WRIST BRACE" FROM THE SHOULDER.

NOTHING HAS BEEN ALTERED IN ANY WAY, EVERYTHING IS FACTORY ORIGINAL, IE, THE "FLAPS", IF YOU WILL, OF THE WRIST BRACE ARE SIMPLY FOLDED IN ON EACH OTHER, AND THE FACTORY STRAPS ARE USED TO SECURE THEM IN PLACE.

YOU WANT IT BACK TO ORIGINAL "WRIST BRACE" CONFIGURATION; LOOSEN THE STRAPS.

I DON'T THINK EVEN THE MOST RABID ATF AGENT WOULD RISK GETTING LAUGHED OUT OF COURT FOR TRYING TO JACK SOMEONE UP ON SUCH NON-EXISTANT GROUNDS.

BIG JOHN,

UNLESS THEY'RE INCLUDING BOTH LETTERS NOW, THE ONLY ONE YOU GET IS JUST THE ATF LETTER STATING THE LEGALITY OF THE "WRIST BRACE", NOTHING ABOUT SHOULDER-SHOOTING IT.

IT WOULD PROBABLY BEHOOVE ANY "SHOULDER-SHOOTERS" TO TRACK DOWN THAT LETTER, HERE ON THE SITE, AND PRINT IT OFF, AND CARRY IT ALSO.

The new sig brace is interesting and looks clean. The old one looks like it would be better for shooters who did not know how to properly fire a pistol. You can see from the photos that there is a lot more material on the first version that would be beneficial for "body part" welding and reference alignment if using your pistol in a non traditional manner. It was designed by a disabled veteran and produced by Sig and a few other companies so it is only natural that it would evolve into a cheaper more clean form.

I'm partial to the old design as I really don't know how to fire a 7.62x39 pistol without additional bracing. The old one has two pieces of webbing instead of one. You know.

Too bad the MPX isn't available in 45.  I'm almost tempted to get the 40 even though I don't support that caliber at the moment.  The energy difference is 100ft/lb minimum.

Imagine this little beast in 10mm.  011.gif

Oops, I just gave myself a chubby.

Never interested in a AR 15 pistol until recently. thinking about this:

mparpistol.jpg

MPAR 556 pistol. No brace needed, but it looks like an ACE type stock might be easily added for a SBR...

mparpistol6.jpg

Be aware, they said you'll void your warranty of you use "steel card ammo or anything wolf". Of course you don't find this out till you open the box and read the warranty.

I love my 7.5.  Post up yer progress!

well, here it is, complete with a big set of balls laugh.png

AR15_PISTOL.JPG

I bought a compete upper a few ago, that had the MAGPUL pop up rear sight for 450. stripped BUSHMASTER lower for 75. I already had the lower parts kit sitting around I bought ages ago.

I found a NIB SIG brace with the tube at a local gunshow for 120, I jumped on that in  a heartbeat as I never seen them lower then 130 excluding shipping and no tube on the net.

A few observations of the SB-X.

The SB-X is slightly shorter than the SB15, and the end of the SB-X is closed while the SB15 is open. This prevents the SB-X from fully seating against the stop on tubes designed for the SB15.

I was looking at this last night and forgot to ask you about it. Does the second version require a proprietary tube or is it a triangular piece of polymer that fits over a regular tube? Or, is that just your gear with a stock smashed over it? Thanks!

The XB-X fits the same way the SB15 does, except it's closed on the end. The KAK tubes I'm using are perfect for the SB15 but not for the SB-X as you can see above. Both braces are very tight on the KAK tubes, and will require some force to install. I don't use talc because I don't want to clean it up, but they claim that makes it easier to install.
