The house leadership is pissing me off

if you get a chance, call them up, your congressional member that is, 202.224.3121, tell them why your pissed. I have. Was told there is a constant stream of phone calls coming in (99%) against Boehner's sell out of the american ppl. They are feeling it, thats why Boehner has to find Democrats to support it.

It's not a done deal, make the call...

Fuck, I even emailed Megyn Kelly today, told her if she/Fox  were going to give the likes of Piers Morgan airtime, I wouldn't watch their show anymore. Why in the Hell would I care what he thought about anything, viewers at CNN didn't, why in the Hell would anybody watching Fox care...? Told them I listened to Mark Levin and didn't watch anymore of her show.

Fuck Piers Morgan... and anybody that gives him a platform....!!!

Make the call guys, cuz all that money you have invested could vanish overnight...

oh how cute, just like voting you believe that  writing or calling  your masters will make a difference. got news for you,  they couldn't give a shit what you say or want.  you and anybody  else that didn't give  them millions of dollars for their "campaign' are just farts in the wind. what you say or want is meaningless.

but if makes you feel like you're doing something then by all means go ahead and call them, but when doing that go ahead and masturbate at the same time, that way in the end.  you'll have  a little something to show for it 021.gif

Matthew,

Eric Cantor will disagree with your edited comment, the big money gave him/Cantor $5.5 million for the win and guess what, he was beaten by a dude with a SHOESTRING BUDGET of only $200k. With the defeatist attitude some have no wonder we are in the shit.

I'm sure you and others have survived many difficult trials in your lives, many here have served this country, have experienced many terrible chapters that the world has thrown at them and have had the strength to survive/persevere. Same as the ones who left everything behind them to fight the British and persevered  to give us the ability, rights to petition our government. That battle has already been fought. And yet ppl like me and a few others face headwinds when we ask other like minded individuals to perform the simplest action of making a phone call.

It comes with the territory I guess, there are those who were loyalist,

I'm just keeping the tradition...

Ignore the democrats and the media telling us who to nominate.

Ignore the good old boys, and entrenched politicians that hate the tea party or other conservatives.

Pay no attention to the forum trolls.

Do all you can do to serve your country, family and the things you believe in.

Only failures want you to fail, and feel your vote or beliefs have no value.

The G. Carlin piece is humorous and entertaining but it actually, if taken literally contributes to the apathy. There are good people that want to change the system. They are silenced though by the media, and those in power that don't like to hear that they are the problem. It's just too many have been lulled into getting free shit.

"Give a man a fish, he eats for the day. Teach a man to fish, he will eat for life."

This axiom has been lost on this country because "fishing" actually means work and why work when it's free?

Only problem is, NOTHING is free. Someone is always giving to those that think it's free. One day this will end when the givers say no more.

yeah great, so he got in cheap. once he is sworn in he'll become  just all the rest of them,  padding his bank account  from "special interest" and doing their bidding.

but you go on and daydream that he'll be the "knight in shiny armor" coming to the  rescue.

When it comes to playing by the rules one has to ask, "who made the rules and why?" just in self defense.

Continuing to play a rigged game is neither wise nor admirable.

Once one learns where these rules came from one can see the problem and understand playing by the rules is more of a problem than is admitted.

The term "law abiding citizen" is not a compliment when the law itself is corrupt.

Ok, fair point.

But then that begs the question, "What now?".

To those who say we should not play by their rules, please tell us what you think we should be doing instead.

There will come a point when its time to "shoot the bastards".

Maybe thats overdue. But I don't see any mob with pitchforks pounding down the doors of the capital building.

Sure it easy to say play by the rules and voting will change things, we have been taught this since childhood for strong reasons both good and bad.

Much more difficult to decide where the shoe needs to hit the machine to stop it.

Someone made the connection to the loyalists during the revolt against England. It is instructive that the loyalists were indeed "playing by the rules" according to the laws of England and the colonies. Indeed it was the loyalists that were the "law abiding citizens" not the founders. Of course it is entirely a matter of perspective, is nature's law supreme or man's is a very old question. The loyalist had a very easy path to follow they were told what to do by the State, the radicals position was much more difficult having to work things out for themselves.

Bemoaning no one giving clear solutions is lazy, come up with your own.

If you dismiss a position with generalities be prepared to be refuted with them.

Evidence points to people being more politically engaged than any time I have seen in my 60 years, voting rates are way up and its common for DC to get flooded with calls and such from the people, a thing almost unheard of just a few decades past. I cannot see much that has been gained and plenty that has been lost despite all the effort. At the absolute best we lose slower.

All these matters are covered by others much more eloquently than I can manage and the only thing that makes any sense to remove the assumed legitimacy of the current State that so called "playing by the rules" grants it.

Be patient you may yet see great and terrible things.

As for solutions, and this is strictly IMHO as I am no prophet, there may be none as most would see them. Things have gone too far and become too firmly entrenched for any restoration.

So what to do?

First stop believing what cannot be proven on your terms. Question everything even and especially one's own assumptions. View this thing as illegitimate bastid it truly has become.

Second understand you will always be in a minority, no great conversion will sweep the land.

Lastly survive what is coming with your integrity intact. That will not be easy nor common.

That is my best guess and am fully aware it is pitifully insufficient.

I'm still trying to figure out the answer to this question...

When that Bitch Pelosi screeched, "You have to pass it to see what's in it."  WHY  WHY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND COUNTRY

Was she NOT bodily escorted directly out of the chambers and physically thrown down the steps of the Congress?!?!

THEN... She bloody well got re-elected?!?!  That sealed it for me... I give up.

Unfortunately, we have become Rome in her final days.  The Law of Averages has come into play.  All you have to do is watch a Jimmie Kimmel "Man on the Street" or listen to a Glenn beck "More-on Trivia".  People can't tell you who the vice president is, but can tell you the last time Kim Kardashian shook her ass.  They can tell you who won Survivor, but not who won WW2.  Bread and circuses are the order of the day.  The takers officially outnumber the makers.  The morale of the once mighty "legions" has been torn asunder.  Right is wrong and wrong is right.  Up is down, and down is up.  If you have ever wondered what it's like when a Republic dies, look around you.  Ours is on life support.  It's only a matter of time before the Visigoths arrive.

The federal government spends 44% more than it brings in, according to the "bi-partisan" budget that was just passed.  $60,000,000,000 a month we are stealing from our future.

And the media is blasting the trumpets about how great it is because it's less than the $76,000,000,000 a month that was expected.

They are also crowing about the "lower" unemployment when there have never been more unemployed people in America.  40% of people in America don't work.  And they boldly proclaim that the unemployment rate is 5.8%.

That goes way beyond creative math.

The government lies to our faces.  The media lies to our faces.

And if America was still the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave we wouldn't stand for it.

But we are now the Land of the Free Stuff, and the Home of the Slave.  Because as long as the serfs get their "draw" everything is right with the world.

Yep. We've been past the PNR for some time now. Its a land of dependency. Our leaders are wreckless, careless and hell bent on finishing off prosperity for good.
