ninja1 0
Is the newer single wire spring have any benefit over the older multi wound spring? I see a lot of hype but would like to know from those who have tried different hammer springs. Thanks!
Spacehog 2,218
Absolutely nothing wrong with the factory springs. I run them in all my AKs. With a polished G2 sear and hammer, produces a smooth 2.5 -3lb trigger everytime. Everything else IMO is a solution in search of a problem.
ninja1 0
Thats what it would appear to me also, however, let's hear from those who may know different.
thebuns1 4,323
Its all marketing. Other than the legs occasionally jumping off the trigger, one is not going to necessarily be better than the other. I really don't see the need to change them.
Matthew Hopkins 1,065
Best Hammer Spring?? that's a easy one, it's the one that every single AK in the world has Edited November 6, 2014 by Matthew Hopkins
Rhodes1968 1,638
I think any difference would only show up after a crap load of full auto use. In theory the wound would be stronger but as always quality matters.
G O B 3,516
I see the single wire as a tuning tool for very heavily modified race guns ONLY!

Inspector 12 37
The way it was explained to me the factory spring is intended to last longer and be better suited for cold weather operation. The single wire spring like JT Engineering sells is more tunable but may ultimately not last as long.
