I guess guns have become iPhones. Taurus makes shitty firearms. Mine blew up in my hand. For their first pistol made in America, they made a crooked grip mouse gun with lights and no sights. Nice.

Keep up the good work Taurus. I'm sure there's someone out there who would trust your shit with their life.

I guess they have revolvers made here too. God, I hate Taurus.

CONFORM! get ready for the smart gun! CONFORM! says the article.

They even patented a curved handle pistol with the US patent office. GET PAID!

Fuck Taurus.

Innovative out of the box ideas are commonly discounted.

Although Taurus is not known as a top shelf firearm, neither are AK 47s.

And those are quite acceptable here.

Who knows how this will fare, or how dependable the gun is.

Time, testing and public acceptance will tell the tale.

Conforming the firearm to the person IS unique and at least deserves an honest look

From Guns & Ammo:

Rather than develop another pistol that requires people to conform around the dimensions of a gun, the new Taurus Curve conforms around the contours of the human body.

In terms of its concept as “The gun you wear,” Taurus has stepped outside the norm with its new Curve, offering a non-traditional form factor that aims for comfortable and clever concealment. In the spirit of its name, its curved polymer frame housing is designed to tuck up to your body when carried on the right side. Taurus has even received approval from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on this arched-frame design, so if other manufacturers wish to adopt a similar concept, they’ll need to pay Taurus for the privileges.

Read our full review of the Taurus Curve in the Jan. 2015 issue of Guns & Ammo. Subscribe here to print, digital or both.

This .380 ACP pistol is also heavily radiused at every corner, producing a carry gun that prints discreetly in your pocket or waistline like a smartphone. That’s right, no holster needed. A removable belt clip is also bolted to the right side of the frame, allowing the pistol to be worn in your waistline for clever concealment with an included triggerguard protector.

The omission of an external safety, a slide release lever and iron sights also results in snag-free carry. Aiming the hammer-fired, double-action only (DAO) pistol can happen one of three ways. Some will want to simply point-shoot this pistol at close-range targets. Others will use the crosshairs etched on the rear of the slide. However, G&A anticipates that most will activate the on-board red laser and LED light module produced for the Curve by LaserLyte. Why no iron sights on the slide, you might ask? One theory is that self-defense with a .380 fired from a sub 3-inch barrel resembles more of a point-and-shoot task than a bullseye competition. With a bit of practice, getting hits on torso targets positioned across an average-sized room (15 ft.) was no problem during G&A’s initial testing this summer.

Getting a grip of the slide is achieved by grabbing hold of the Curve’s external snakeskin-like cocking serrations. Users will also find it easy to manipulate the slide. Because the Taurus Curve is a locked-breech pistol and not a blowback design, it is easy for almost anyone to manipulate including those with dexterity or strength issues. The necessary recoil spring weight of locked-breech pistols is generally far lighter than that of a blowback firearm.

Taurus lists that safety features of the Curve include a loaded chamber indicator atop the slide and a magazine disconnect safety.

The Taurus Curve is expected to appear in stores during the first quarter of 2015 with an MSRP of $392. To learn more about the Curve, read our full review in the January 2015 issue of Guns & Ammo, available on newsstands December 2, 2014.

Until then, please enjoy G&A’s exclusive first-look photos of the Taurus Curve

when your .44 mag blows up in your hand you have a tendency to be a bit jaded. this was a titanium revolver. there were several other duds out there by taurus. and, you are supporting Brazil. I'm glad your beretta copy is working for you.

Holy gimmicky bullshit batman. That being said, I like it. It won't be replacing the good ole LCP any time soon though.

I bet someone came up with it one evening while watching the movie Wanted, while drunk. "Let's curve the gun and not the bullets."

I dunno. Taurus and everything aside first thing I thought when I saw it was " man, if they ever come up with a successful birth control pill for men, I think I know what the dispenser will look like.

Always like to see innovative ideas, but pass

It does look like its cozy to carry. But doesn't look like I would enjoy shooting it. Plus its ugly as fuck.

You don't need sights in point shooting.

Nevertheless, I want sights on my guns.  Little bumps would be enough to satisfy my ocd requirement.

Okay, well I'm not trying to sell it to you. Just stating the obvious intent of the design, deep concealment protection.

I already have to shoot my PT-92 using the sides of the frame as the sights, cause it shoots too low to use the sights.  At least the frame is boresight to the barrel.  Doing that I can keep a magazine in a 12" target at 25.

The sights work good for one handed racking of the slide against my pants pocket.

I think the belt/pocket clip coming standard is a mistake.  You're going to have a lot of people carrying these with nothing covering the trigger.

Taurus-Curve.jpg

Probably not that big of a deal on a heavy DAO trigger. I carried a P3AT for many years with the same 300lb trigger. Never had an AD. The trigger design on this one would prevent a lot of snags and there's even a nice dot on the receiver to put your trigger finger on when drawing.

Good points.  I had a similar clip on a P3AT BUG for a while, but ended up ditching it for fear of an ND.

The heavy trigger is probably enough but the idea of having something end up in the trigger guard or my son climbing on my lap was enough to convince me that it was an unnecessary risk.

I have a feeling the trigger will be like using a staple gun. If it doesn't suck and they relent and put at least an option for sights on it, I'd be up for a try. IMO they did a better job with their current 380 than some more respected brands have.

Don't put words into what I wrote. "not supporting the USA"

Taurus will always suck. I tried one out for the fun of it when they decided to make a light weight titanium revolver. At least it failed right away so it didn't happen when I needed it out in the Bob Marshall.
