On 15 November 2014 I went to the T-Mobile store at 4130 S New Braunfels Ave, Suite 101San Antonio, TX and ordered myself a Note Edge and my wife a iPhone 6 Gold 64 GB.   I have been going to that store since the initial debacle I had when I joined T-Mobile a year ago over the phone.  They had always been very courteous and professional towards me.  During ordering, this is what I was told:

1.  I would not be charged anything until I received a tracking number that the phone(s) had shipped.

2.  The phones would ship independently once either one became available.

3.  That I should receive both phones NLT 22nd of November, but could take up to 10 days.

The following Monday comes and I see a pending charge of $169.75 to my checking account for 'T-Mobile' upgrade.  So I called T-Mobile and they told me that I should have received a tracking number and if not, I should receive it by COB that day.  I was also told that my wife’s iPhone was on back order, which didn't make me happy, but did not surprise me as well.   The next day I did not receive a tracking number so I stopped by the store that I had ordered them from and spoke with an assistant manager.  She apologized profusely and told me that both my phones were on back order, that neither had shipped to me, and that I shouldn't a have been charged anything, pending or not.  She could not give me an estimate of when my phones would ship and that I shouldn't have been charged anything.   I was not happy when I left.

I waited 2 days and called T-Mobile again.  This lady told me that the charge was not 'really' a charge as it was a 'pending' charge that T-Mobile does to ensure they have access to the funds, and that meant that my phone was in shipping, although she couldn't tell me which one it was.  I told her that pending or not, the money was out of my account, so I didn't care what she called it.  She promised me my phone was in shipping and I should receive a tracking number at any moment.

2 more days go by and I have heard nothing.  I looked at my T-Mobile bill and notice that it had gone up $32.00  I immediately call them again, spoke with a customer loyalty person, and was told that $24 of that was for insurance on the phones that I DO NOT HAVE and the other $8 was for misc. charges.  I promptly had her remove the insurance, as I did not request it, and although should couldn't exactly tell me what the $8 was for, she removed that as well.   Now this representative told me that they didn't know when my phones would ship and couldn't explain why I had the money taken out of my account.

On the 21st I went back to the store to ask them why all of this had occurred and I had been lied to.  There was a 30ish male assistant manager there and I had noticed him 'roughly' dealing with other customers in the past.   I explained to him all that had happened and he told me that it couldn’t have happened at his store.  Ok, I will admit at this point I was about to go nuclear.  That's when this 'man' gets close to me and raises his hands saying, 'what do you want me to do for you?  What do you want?'  I told him that I wanted to know when my phones would ship, why they charged my account with no tracking number, and who authorized them to place charges on my account without my knowledge or approval.  He then started to raise his voice, and knowing myself, this was only going to end with me getting escorted out of the store by local security.  At this point, everyone was watching us, and I told him that this was not the last they were going to hear from me.  And I very slowly walked out.

I will admit, I was beyond irrate.  I sat in my car for a while, then called T-Mobile.  I was immediately patched thru to 'customer loyalty' manager named Monique.  After I had told her everything that had happened, names, placed, dates and all of the lies, the profusely apologized and told me she would file a 'case' against the store.  The also said they would start an investigation on who charged my account.   When the conversation was over, she said that my note edge was in shipping and I would receive a tracking number in 24 hours.  That she guaranteed it was in shipping and I would officially hear back from T-Mobile on the outcome of the investigations.  This was about a 1 hour phone call.

48 hours later, no tracking number, no phone call, no nothing.  I did receive a email stating that my wifes iPhone would ship between the 28 of November and the 13th of December.  So why didn't I cancel everything by now?  Believe me I wanted to...but if i canceled one of the phones, the both would be dropped, and I wanted very much for my wife to have her phone for Christmas.  That is why.

On the way to work I decided to call them.  Big mistake as it put me in a foul mood all day.  This person told me that neither of my phones had shipped, couldn’t tell me when they would and again, couldn’t explain to me why the $169 had been taken from my account.  I am sure there was a visible mushroom cloud coming from the cab of my truck at that point.  I will not even bother with explaining the words that flowed from my mouth.

After work that day, I called ‘customer loyalty’ and this woman was very curt and to the point.  There was no way for her to tell me when my phones would ship, she had never heard of Monique and there was no way for her to find out who she is because T-Mobile was just too large with to many call centers.  She told me no investigations had been launched and none probably would not be.  She said that if I had the money put back into my account, it would cancel both phones, and that they would only ship both when they were available together.  I insisted that I be given the distract T-Mobiles email address and she refused to do so, instead she gave me this address:

Customer Relations

PO Box 37380

Albuquerque NM 87176-7380

This had to be done by snail mail and there is no other way.  She stated continuously that there was nothing else she could do for me and ended the conversation.

I HAVE NEVER been treated this poorly, lied to this many times by any company in my 51 years of breathing oxygen.  If it wasn’t for my wife’s Christmas Present I would have had them shove the phones and their service where even worms will not go.  I just wanted to share my experience as I hope it helps others.  After I pay the phones off, we will be going back to ATT.  I initially left ATT because T-Mobile saved me $1200.00 a year and gave us many for features then ATT did.  Now, I regret it.  The frustration, the lies, and the aggravation is not worth it.  How a company can legally work this way I will never know.  If anyone could send me the email address of the distract manager of San Antonio for T-Mobile, I would greatly appreciate it.  I had it once, but cannot find it now.

Last friday I went to a sprint store and they had numerous iPhone's and a couple of note edges.  I almost pulled the trigger with them, but something kept buzzing in my brain that there was a reason why they had these phones and no one else does.  Upon further research, yeap, sprint has some of the worse signal in San Antonio.  I am glad I didn't.  Would have been from one hell to another.

...and $print treats their employees like shit, has been in trouble with NLRB for illegal labor practices, they have the worst customer satisfaction in the nation, they've been caught "pushing" charges on customer's accounts, their coverage area is one of the smallest. I know. I used to work there. They're also rabidly pro-gay, promoting homosexuals over others better qualified, anti-gun, extremely "progressive".

I was subjected to discrimination from management while I worked there because of my conservative, pro-gun, pro military, Christian beliefs.

I will never, ever give $print, or any of their other child companies a dime.

They can't legally operate this way unless WE allow it. If it were me I would have told the store manager that I intend to file a complaint with the state Attorney General, fraud division, and that you intend to provide them his name. These pricks usually straighten up and do the right thing when threatened with legal action, but they count on us being ignorant of the law and/or lazy. At this point I would file the complaint if you really want to help others, as most state A/Gs do not look favorably on businesses that fuck people over, call your A/G and make them do their job. Usually when a business gets a call from the A/Gs office they straighten up pretty fast.

Thanks AA.  I am far from done. I am taking a few days of 'regrouping' before I attack again.  I don't give up nor do I quit. This has been mentally taxing on me....I am 51 with a 2.5 and 6.5 year old girls, so I have to pick my battles wisely.   Some 'anonymous' person on one of the forums sent me the email address of the CEO of t-mobile, so I started there.  Believe me, I have just stared.  But thanks for the encouragement.

I've seen this type of behavior from many of the large service carriers.

This is with cell service, cable/satellite, internet, all of it. There are so few companies providing these services, that they don't care when you threaten to drop them any more. They know that your choices are limited.

I think the call centers are now staffed by the cheapest help available, and they are told to brush off angry customers and move on to the next call.

They are still making big money whether you as an individual are happy or not.

They don't care about you.

Unfortunately sjgusmc21, I think all they will offer is "wait or cancel".

If you're getting nowhere with the CSR, immediately and politely ask to speak to their supervisor. If the supervisor won't get you satisfaction, ask for the supervisor's supervisor. Repeat as needed.

CSRs get graded on call length, repeat calls, saying certain key words/phrases, etc. Drag it out and they'll do just about anything to get you off the phone.

FYI: At Sprint, asking for a supervisor just got you another CSR.

The day I quit, I was handing out customer rebates like candy.

"You had some trouble? Here's $25 off your account." Next:!

I think that's how it is with most of them. You never really talk to a supervisor.

My little brother worked at a call center for a while..... he said troublesome customers could be routed to "eternal hold"

by the computers automatically. If you call from a different phone, they just add that number to your file. The same thing

can be done to always route your calls to "off-shore specialists".... thick accents and run you in circles to wear you down.

He said the dishonesty in the place got to him and he had to leave.

After giving Verizon thousands of dollars over the years they shit on me for the last time.

Fuck contracts and fuck "free" upgrades.

I'm with a prepaid service now.  I have a phone I paid for and service I pay month to month.

And I cut the cable at the same time.  Cox is the perfect name for that company.  And Cox Suckers is what their customers are treated like.

I cut that shit loose from my house about 10 years ago, took the fuken cable and wrapped it around the pole it was attached to, then took all of their gear to the local office and dumped it all on the counter, told them to lick my ass on the way out the door.

Thank you all for your comments.  I am not concerned with my money taken from my account...if I desire USAA will deal with them...that I have no doubt.

What I want dealt with is all the lies.  All I want is the truth, but by now I doubt Jesus would even believe their filth.

I don't give up easily.  I will keep this posted with updates.

I don't have any problems or drama with any of them,  because I don't have a cell phone.

people are some of the dumbest  critters on this planet, they come out with a mobile phone,  bombard the airwaves with advertisements, "special offers" etc....  and just about ever fricken person on this planet believes they need one

oh my fucking god! what did we do before cell phones? talk about slavery, people are slaves to these gizmos and will do stupid things to get the "latest and greatest" like waiting 2 days in line  of buying one and paying stupid amounts for all the charges and fees associated with the "privilege" of having one so they can stick to the side of their heads, blabbing constantly to someone else about nothing.

these phones have turned the entire planet into women, blabbing just to blab about nothing

honestly if you take a look at what 99.9 percent of the time you use these things for, it's more then not you are  just blabbing away about nothing, like what brand of tampons you need to pick up when your wife calls you and if she needs the "light day" or "heavy day". how did your bowel movement go? where are you? how come you didn't call me? etc.... etc..... etc.....

if every single cell tower died in this world, I'm convinced that nearly the entire population of the planet  will fall down  go into the fetal position and go into convulsions because  they can't get anybody to talk/text/tweet twat to

Sorry for your troubles, I have been through similar bullshit with T-mobile, and it never got resolved. I did make one of their CSR's cry, not by cursing or being rude, just politely informing her that she was doing absolutely nothing for me and I would need to speak to a supervisor.

Must have been a new hire.

She just needs more company training and then she'll be useless to the customer and proud of it.      haha.gif

too long winded.... buy a gsm phone and get a sim from a MVNO like the ones in the link above.

my plan is 30 bucks a month

wife uses nokia windows on redpocket

i use a motorola android on black wireless

both our phones work when traveling and we saved thousands of dollars over the years by not getting stuck with shitty locked phones, poor customer service and expensive contracts.

I ported my landline number onto my cell phone for business reasons. looks like a local number. yep, the FCC does some good... You own that number and can port it to your new carrier. Even your home copper wire number.

If you are bored on a Saturday or Sunday stand outside their store (on public right of way) with a sign saying T-Mobile adds fraudulent charges to customers bill.

yeah, that'll show that global multi-billion dollar corporation they can't push you around laugh.png

I wouldn't do that, your probably the wrong race and will get your face planted in the concrete....

Maybe you could hire some minorities to protest for you, holding signs that T-mobile Helped shoot Mike brown and T-mobile is a fraudulent company.

I got tired of AT&T not working in my place of business, but still had a good phone and others on my plan. As luck would have it, I killed that phone with muratic acid (long story) and couldn't afford to get a new phone from AT&T, at all. At this point I was financially forced to look at other options for cell service. I looked into pre-paid carriers and chose Straight Talk. I did some more research and figured out they have phones that work on Verizon's network, so I bought one, got a $45 month card, and I am happier with cell service than I have been in a long time. I never get slammed with odd fees and charges, talk and text is unlimited, I have 3 gigs of data (which I never get closed to using), and I can depend on my bill being $48 and change every month, no matter what. I can also buy and new phone anytime I want and suffer no consequence in regards to the charges for my service. The savings over a year could put me in a really nice phone annually which is refreshing since I usually go 2-3 years on a phone.

yep, I also don't follow the mind numb masses, like lemmings going over a cliff,  simply because everybody has a cell phone so I should have one also.

I can find a lot better use for that money rather then throw it away every month on something that really isn't needed, unless your business or job requires it.
