600rr_rider 0
Hey guys, first of all thanks for all the information. I finally purchased a saiga 12 iz108. I hate seeing these questions asked, but I am wondering since it isn't a normal ak or say a glock. I had my rifle against my wall and it got knocked over onto tile. Ofcourse the tile was destroyed to the cement lol but I can't get the sound it made out of my head. And the possibility that I might of hurt my new gun. So I feel stupid, but did I hurt anything? Are they as strong as normal aks? Thank you all
sccritterkiller 473
You should be fine...go shoot it.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
If it's still stock it's fine. It's the cheap ass bullshit people buy and stack all over them that breaks when that happens.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
The SBS in my avatar gets dropped or thrown at least once per range session. About the longest has been 30'. You have nothing to worry about +1 on Cobra's comment about tacticrap. Edited December 3, 2014 by evlblkwpnz

gunfun 3,931
Where were they selling IZ-108 models? That's a score if you like the rail, which I do. Mostly you just see the '109 version the last several years.
600rr_rider 0
I picked up my saiga 12 from a private sale, it's a Kalashnikov usa pt st. Lucie florida iz 108. I love her too death, even if the sights are a little canted. Edited December 4, 2014 by 600rr_rider
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Easy fix that's a nice one. Got a few of those.
600rr_rider 0
how would you advise to fix my sight? And since it is a earlier model, should I leave it as is? Or do a pistol grip conversion? Thanks
Cobra 76 two 2,677
With the rib sights there is an elevation adjustment wheel up front and a rear sight you can drift to the left or right as needed. I have a 108 and a 109 with the rib and I'm leaving both in the sporter config. I did put Saiga .308 wood stock & HG on the 109 though for a much better feel of heft and balance. My 108 is pretty much unfired and has the 22" full choked barrel so I'll likely keep it bone stock.
storm6490 2,768
nice old shotgun! you couldn't hurt it if you tried. i had the same one, it turned into a tac47. it did not like walmart ammo till after the conversion. it ran perfectly with surplus us 00.
