MeatAxe556 0
I have a Vepr 12 and a Saiga 12 IZ109. I like the function of the Vepr magwell and would like to have commonality of mags between both guns (using Vepr mags). The Vepr LRBHO feature would be nice on the Saiga, but not necessary. Can I mount a Vepr or other mfg. magwell on the Saiga (easily) and have it function reliably with unaltered Vepr mags? Thanks! Eck-Tek 4
I'm not sure about a factory vepr magwel.. But I know JT Engineering has been working on one for a while. His website says coming soon.
dochoc 4
Can certainly be done. I know a lot of people shooting Saigas at the Hungary world shoot were using the Molot magwells and mags. The enlarged competition magwell with the extended sides was most common. Don't know how difficult it would be without a machine shop behind you.

MeatAxe556 0
Thanks all for the info! Looking forward to seeing the new Vepr 12 mag well for Saigas.
Mullet Man 2,114
I use an SGM magwell on my 109 with Molot mags. Had to shave the inside of the magwell for the mags to fit. Also had to open up the receiver at the front of the magwell for the mags to fully seat in like they do in the vepr12. I passed on using a Molot magwell because the mag latch boss (where the pin goes thru) are different heights and I didn't think it would work out right.
