TonyRumore 1,332
I took all your input from the first prototype and made this new one. I made the slots narrower and angled them back. I also added the door breacher points in the front and threaded it M22x.75 with a jam nut for factory threaded barrels. I don't have any pricing yet. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=373945 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp
AegisDei 2
HELL YEA! Awesome work Tony! I think I might want one of those puppies. Will you let us know if they function well at reducing recoil? Any other color options (black or stainless)?
TonyRumore 1,332
That one is not refinished yet. That's just bare 4140 steel. I would probably just coat them with flat black moly resin when I am doing a batch of guns.

drooling idiot 1
definatly !!! thats what i wanted !!!! awesome . if i remeber you said you can thread the outside of a saiga barrel thats already remchoked right? i gotta go work off this woody.
TonyRumore 1,332
Well, actually I first made some calculations and posted that it could NOT be threaded on the inside and the outside, then I ran some more numbers and said that it could be done. But, unfortunately I was correct the first time. NO, you can't thread the outside for the OEM attachments and the inside for Rem chokes. It leaves the wall thickness pretty close to ZERO. AegisDei 2
Tony, have you gotten to see how well it does at reducing recoil yet? Please let us know! Thanks!!!
PogueMahone 0
me likee! lol, silly thought - make one without the sternum scraper points and make the muzzle look like a shark's mouth. Edited February 7, 2006 by PogueMahone

drooling idiot 1
OK plan B , i send you an extended choke with a wall thickness of .09" and the same OD as the barrel. then get you to thread the outside of the choke to take the threads of the new shark brake. JumiKuula 1
Shark Brake? And I thought I was being innovative creating a HaiJarru (=SharkBrake...) inspired by shark. Too bad it was too effective with .308... Some comments by Finski are found: http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread....ghlight=serious More pics on page 1 and 2. inparidel 4
Glad to see you are now trying to direct the gasses bakward, Tony. Good deal. I still think the side ports may be too large, but I believe that will cut back on the inertil recoil some. Good job.
JumiKuula 1
Shark Brake? And I thought I was being innovative creating a HaiJarru (=SharkBrake...) inspired by shark. Too bad it was too effective with .308... Too effective? As in, wouldn't build the pressure needed to blow back the bolt? Or what? I'm confused... Instead of muzzle climbing, as usual, it goes way down! It eats recoil as one in the pic did, but fighting that reversed climb... Well, nowadays it's better, stainless, four chambered and still within standard-div. dimensions. With 7.62x39 SharkBrake worked fine though. Silver in Nordic-Championship Standard division... But was accused of using minor-loads by virtue of not having recoil. I don't claim that FAL had too much recoil before but sometimes some improvements must be made... Recoil? EDIT: No, I wasn't in that competition. I don't own any 7.62x39 at the moment...
325time 1
That is awesome. Would you be able to make one of those in 308?
G O B 3,516
We need one of those for the S-.308 , made as a pin-on, that uses both pins. G O B
sniper_n_training 0
Tony, Ever consider making any for non-threaded barrels? I would be VERY interested! Also, whats the brakes OA length? Thanks!

sniper_n_training 0
Brake, or his new FUBAR'd S-12 Barrel Extenders? The brake. I was only wondering the length so I could get an estimate of how much more I could take of my S12 barrel (and weld the brake on of couse).
TonyRumore 1,332
The OAL is 2.5" with the threaded section being .75". It will be awhile before these are available. I will be having CNC shop run them. They take too long to make on my manual equipment. I don't plan to make any for the .308's.

TonyRumore 1,332
The guy I need to talk with at the CNC shop has been out sick. As soon as he gets back in, I'll get a quote on having a bunch of these made.
GunsmithCat 0
BTT, can't wait to hear availability/pricing on these, damn thing looks a lot better than my idea of welding a hole saw on the front of the saiga.
