New redesigned Shark Brake (pic)

Recommended Posts

I took all your input from the first prototype and made this new one. I made the slots narrower and angled them back. I also added the door breacher points in the front and threaded it M22x.75 with a jam nut for factory threaded barrels.

I don't have any pricing yet.

Hello Tony,

Very , Very good looking brake --- Please post a price when you have time.

Thanks Bird aka GF

+1 on that...The longer I wait to get mine the more cool stuff you come up with.

That's absolutely beautiful!!!

Well, actually I first made some calculations and posted that it could NOT be threaded on the inside and the outside, then I ran some more numbers and said that it could be done.

But, unfortunately I was correct the first time. NO, you can't thread the outside for the OEM attachments and the inside for Rem chokes. It leaves the wall thickness pretty close to ZERO.

Shark Brake? And I thought I was being innovative creating a HaiJarru (=SharkBrake...) inspired by shark. Too bad it was too effective with .308... :P

Too effective? As in, wouldn't build the pressure needed to blow back the bolt? Or what? I'm confused...

Instead of muzzle climbing, as usual, it goes way down!

It eats recoil as one in the pic did, but fighting that reversed climb... Well, nowadays it's better, stainless, four chambered and still within standard-div. dimensions.

With 7.62x39 SharkBrake worked fine though. Silver in Nordic-Championship Standard division... But was accused of using minor-loads by virtue of not having recoil. B)

I don't claim that FAL had too much recoil before but sometimes some improvements must be made... Recoil?

EDIT: No, I wasn't in that competition. I don't own any 7.62x39 at the moment... ;)
