pkf 0
I'm new to this site and love reading most of the post (even the arguing, ha). Would like some direction on what to look for when purchasing. 1. There's a guy in our town that has a new in box for $500. Is that a good deal? 2. What does pre XN mean? How do you tell and which one do I want? 3. Where do you get your after market parts? Any other advise would be appreciated and thx ahead of time.
james lambert 3,059
Pre XN refers to guns made by earlier manufacturers. I doubt any are still NIB in stores Current guns are made by Eksen arms and are marked MKA1919-XN on the right side of the upper. http://www.3gunusa.com/

Flatland Shooter 22
I'm new to this site and love reading most of the post (even the arguing, ha). Would like some direction on what to look for when purchasing. 1. There's a guy in our town that has a new in box for $500. Is that a good deal? As others have pointed out, you might be able to pick one up a little cheaper. Depending on when he purchased the gun, he may have more than $500 tied up in it. 2. What does pre XN mean? How do you tell and which one do I want? On the side of the upper receiver it will say "MKA 1919" (the pre-XN model) or "MKA 1919 XN" (the current model). As the proud owner of two pre_XN guns, I would probably recommend you go with the newer XN model simply because more aftermarket parts are available for it. Not all parts fit both guns. 3. Where do you get your after market parts? Two major sources of top quality parts are "Firebird Precision" and "Tooth and Nail". I've done business with both and have zero complaints about either. Any other advise would be appreciated and thx ahead of time.

pkf 0
Thx for the responses. I bought it that afternoon for 480. Zero rounds thru it and an XN with the box and paperwork. Looking forward to shooting it tomorrow and trick it out later. Struggle between that and a UTS but didn't want to spend twice as much.
