Every time we win the battles and lose the war because we don't have the balls to finish the job. Hell I don't even know if it's possible to win this war against islam. And yes it is a war against islam because the "bad" islamists are the ones in charge. Just like we fought wars against Japan when not all Japanese people were bad and a war against Germany when not all German people were bad. But this time we're facing an enemy that is worse than the Nazis and worse than imperial Japan. This time there are tens of millions of deluded religious fanatics who are willing to die for their chance to spend eternity raping 72 little girls. This war won't go away no matter how many countries we invade, or don't invade. There is nothing we can do or not do that will keep them from wanting to kill us. We can leave Afghanistan or stay and it won't change anything because it's like stepping on a roach. For as many places as we can control, there are thousands we cant. We can win battles, but the war is so enormous it would need to be fought at WWII levels, which isnt going to happen. The is no tangible goal or a flag to capture there. US like USSR has complete superiority in arms, kill ratio is high but there is just no point being there. F*** 'em.
