DogMan 2,343
No excuses on anybody's part there. The injured finger was on his non-shooting hand. I wonder why that would cause him to lose his job. He probably deserves some compensation to help cover bills but it should be like half of his actual costs to reflect that he was equally at fault. By no means should he get a retirement package out of it.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Who the hell dry-fires a firearm they're looking at anyway? If I'm seriously considering a particular firearm, I ask if I can dry fire to feel the trigger with or without a snap cap. It is one of my pet peeves with buying firearms that so many won't let you try the trigger. Heck, I've even offered to buy the snap caps and been told no, not like I'm asking to dry-fire a rimfire without a snap cap. there aren't many times I'm happy to have my self filmed or photo'd my top 2 for not wanting to be shown are 1. shooting myself 2. showing up in a people of walmart photo spread so far so good If I show up on People of WalMart I may shoot myself . ....................................... Lets face it, unfortunately, this dipshit will very likely win a healthy pay out. The court will divide the blame, the LGS is indeed negligent, a $0.25 chamber flag would've avoided this. So regardless of his own culpable negligence he will win. Edited January 15, 2015 by ChileRelleno

He did discharge a firearm within city limits - which is illegal nearly everywhere, and is technically a gun crime. For some departments, that's an automatic termination.

And sometimes it's just swept away. I'm still pissed about an incident by a past WTO that I witnessed. At least they pulled his certification.
