Vance665 225
Apparently alot of Saigas were built in 08. Or maybe it's just my imagination. All my saigas are 08s.
Taranscorp 0
How can you tell when your Saiga-12 was made.? I own a SGL12-09 Edited February 13, 2015 by Taranscorp
Maknwar 33
I think they were all made in 08.
ewoketeer 35
In the Serial number after the alpha, the first 2 digits are the last 2 of the year of manufacture. For instance, mine starts H02... . Hope this helps.
blackknight135 9
Congrats. Some 08 Saiga 12s have a few problems that may want to look out for. The ports are not drilled or the gas block is positioned wrong. Keep a close eye on your rails (the ones that your bolt carrier rides on} gaps have shown up in them and it will lock nup your gun. The bolt carrier can crack where the piston screws in. In your case I would advise you to consider Cobra 76 II services for a smooth operating gun. You could try the Saiga GOD at tromix if you have plenty of money,a fast computer and plenty of time to wait. I have seen or experienced all of the above problems in several 08s in particular. In any case you'll love this gun particullary with a MD-20 drum Edited February 13, 2015 by blackknight135
Taranscorp 0
My Shotgun has no letters in the serial number

gunfun 3,931
Then, I recommend a JTE magwell. Factory forend is fine. Whatever stock you like. IMO smooth up the action, and keep the spring weights stock. Maybe get one of those R&R optic mounts if you want a red dot or something. Some people prefer it to be mounted as far back over the dust cover as you can keep from hitting your face. That makes sense to me too.
