saltydecimator 482
i could post a pic but its gonna be a bit. i have a 20 ga that i am messing with that i left the fwd pivot pin in with the retaining spring and the lifter lever that lifts trigger in the sporter config gun. this does 2 things 1- allows me to keep the fcg linkage retainer in more securely, as spring cant be removed unless you knock swaged pin out 2- less take up in trigger, due to the hammer engaging less on the sear. thoughts? i presume safety should be considered, but for a range toy, as long as proper safety rules are followed, a reduced engaged sear shouldnt hurt. long term? i have fired it but only most of a mag, and it was jamming due to improper gas port holes for low brass (federal)
gunfun 3,931
If you are talking about the slingshot piece ("yoke"). Then it is fine in concept. That's basically what the dinzag kits are. Reduced take up is a good thing, so long as you don't reduce too much. You want to leave more than 1/32" of engagement, but I am not going to say how much more. tweaking the yoke might allow you to control the amount of engagement to find a goldilocks spot. I definitely think you need to use the tapco hammer, and disco with their trigger body to keep the mating angles the same. I've seen some mix n matching that I would not trust. gunfun 3,931
Even with a sporter stock and 5 round mags, you've got a serious advantage over most shotguns.
G O B 3,516
Nothing 'lame' about 5 rounds of 3" 00 buck!
gunfun 3,931
Unless you compare it to 5 rounds of 3" #4 or #
