Heartbreaker 1,085 Posted March 19, 2015 Report Share Posted March 19, 2015 Glocks have their place, being the cheap, basic, durable pistol with lots of aftermarket parts, but they are kinda awful in the trigger, ergonomics and aesthetics departments. I also have large hands and compact pistols just disappear. I have a stainless Ruger SR9 that I really like, the trigger is a bit heavy but it looks great and fits my hand wonderfully. I have complete confidence that it will go bang every time I pull the trigger. After owning a 226 I've kinda moved on from Glocks, but I just recently fired a 42 for the first time a few weeks ago and I was amazed at how accurate it was. At 7 yards with Tula I managed to overlap four shots, and the other 2 were only 2 inches out of the group. Definitely much better than I've ever done with my LCP. I say more safe because no handgun is completely safe. Some by design are more safe than others, which is good. Even with my ambo safety Colt 1911, I have had a few close calls caused by my own human stupidty. One time that ambo thumb safety saved my bacon. Only reason I ask is that I own HK's, Glocks and an XD. To be honest, I dont think one is a better performer than the other. I've got Kimbers, Berettas, Norincos, Rugers, and some that I don't even remember, but I likes my Glocks. The wife complains that I don't carry my Kimber she gave me, BUT, if I get in shit deep, have to start popping caps, I'd rather the Po Po keep my Glock for a while, than I would a $1200.00 Kimber. They confiscate a high dollar gun, you might not ever see it again, and besides, my Glock ALWAYS goes boom, the Kimber is finicky about what it'll shoot, but the Glock eats it all.
