Mullet Man 2,114
According to Atlantic Firearms in a thread on the AK files, no they are not able to accept standard AK butt stocks. They also said no more welded open folders either. Edit, my bad, you were asking about the trunnion. Isn't the inside measurement smaller in the 1.5mm receivers, requiring some work to mate a fixed AK trunnion? Edited April 13, 2015 by Mullet Man
evlblkwpnz 3,418
Trunnions have to be narrowed to install in the V12, for instance an AK100 or standard fixed stock AKM trunnion. If you had a folding trunnion V12 stock kit it could be done without welding, blending, redrilling, and refinishing. Outside of that, I am not aware of an option that meets that criteria. I agree, that model was poorly thought out, but it beats getting nothing. Those stocks begin to loosen at the pins over a couple hundred rounds and they wobble up and down, folder or not. Additionally, the weapon has to be shipped with a stock attached to qualify as a shotgun. It makes more sense to me to just get a regular fixed stock model with a tang since that is 2 fewer holes to weld and blend.
saltydecimator 482
Ok that all makes "sense". Our ridiculous laws sure make it hard to do stuff. So how do those howa barreled actions come in? If it shipped from Russia like ya say it would just be a "firearm". And you could do the shockwave nfa hack and have an uuiiiiugly sb vepr.....Firearm? evlblkwpnz 3,418
Due to regulations, many companies expend more time and effort running the maze of stupid regulations than just working and giving the customer what they want. That stock setup is a prime example of that. Edited April 16, 2015 by evlblkwpnz
sj13 0
Hey everyone, I'm brand new here to the forum so please excuse if this question has been answered in another thread already ... Just ordered one of these new Non Folding V12's, havent received it just yet so I haven't really gotten to take a good look at how the entire setup just yet but I'm curious if anyone has advice on how to swap out this fixed stock with the new rear trunion configuration? Also if its just a simple swap out any idea which parts are currently compatible for a successful swap?
Arndog123 2
Someone over at vepr.org said that Carolina Shooter Supply is working on something for it.
saltydecimator 482
It's an ass pain which is the reason for my thread. Just google it. Drill and tap and then possibly the ace folder or not folder parts

gunfun 3,931
So is there an easy way to recognize the crappy stock from the good ones? I point friends at Vepr 12s when they are asking what gun to buy, and this one was a bit new to me. I'd hate to tell them it's an easy mod to be a folder and then find I had steered them wrong.
