something wrong here?

Recommended Posts

I had a Romanian SAR 1 that looked just like this. As Mullet Man suggested, the tang was straight but the stock was drilled off center. I drilled out the holes and plugged them with a piece of dowel  and redrilled them. It ended up straight as an arrow. My stock was wood.

Thanks guys, wanted to see how common this was. In person, at least, it seems more than a little crooked haha. When I pulled it off, I could have sworn the stock itself was crooked. What I mean is, not that it was drilled improperly, but it looked like the end that fits into the receiver(what's that called?) is not in line with the rest of the stock. That seems unlikely though so I'll have to take another look. I'll post pictures of that if I can get decent light tonight.

I have a straight Saiga stock, I'll send you, if you like. Let me know

That is very considerate of you and I thank you. I wouldn't ask you to trouble yourself with it though. It doesn't bother me too much right now, and eventually I'm going to put wood on it I believe. If I change my mind at some point I'll see if you still have it. Thanks again!
