poolingmyignorance 2,191
Any AK 7.62x39 bolt should work, just have it head spaced.
SGL 530
Any AK 7.62x39 bolt should work, just have it head spaced. No, this is unfortunately not true. The Saigas use an AK100 style bolt with a thinner bolt stem. You need to find a Saiga bolt in the appropriate caliber, and then have it headspaced.

Wonder why they did that.
SGL 530
They made the Saiga series rifles based off the AK74. In order to offer a 7.62x39 version to both civilians and military, they put the x39 head on a 5.45 bolt stem.
SGL 530
I just saw that there's one for sale over the AKFiles forum for $155.00.I would definitely want to see photos before sending the funds, but hopefully this helps you out. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231876 Edit: Whoops, I didn't mean to necro-thread this one. It came up in my browser history when I was searching for JRP's more recent post.
