sobrenegade 795
I just found out "Rowdy" Roddy Piper passed away yesterday. I never was a big fake wrestling fan, but just like those old kung fu movies. it must have taken a lot of strength and energy to maintain the momentum. I still liked him better than some of the others. He's up wrestling with Andre now.
HB of CJ 1,263
You know you are really getting old here when you click on that link to see all the recently deceased pro wrestlers and you are one generation too late. We used to make supervised trips to the Old Olympic Auditorium in South Central Los Angeles to see such greats as Freddy Blassie, Bo Bo Brazil, Haystack Calhoun, later Andre The Giant and many others. "The Craw, the Craw"! "The Figure Four"! Good fun memories indeed. We were just kids. Edit; "The Sleeper" "Oh Nellie" Jake Lane the wimpy announcer for TV. I got to shake Andres hand. He was one big huge man. Very kind. Very patient. Spoke excellent English with a slight strange accent. Freddie Blassie signed my autograph. Also very kind and patient with us kids. All the wrestlers back then seemed to take the time answering all of our dumb questions. They also told us they were actors and athletes and not to do what they did. Ronin38 2,117
Yep, sorry to hear he's gone. 61 is too young, even in his former line of work! "Put on the glasses!"
Capt Nemo 882
Andre was great backstage, and would even help the local crew load up on the out. Miss him! And a big FUCK YOU! to the Jersey bastard that caused a split between the wrestlers and the local crews! Now we can't even eat with them in catering! That bastard owes both the locals and the wrestlers a big apology! And to those that saw the burning WCW barbed wire wreath episode, I built that wreath! Even got to shake hands with Trump when he sold the WWE back. I was the main ring camera cable paige that night. May be working WWE when it comes to the Resch Center in Green Bay this month.
ktcm7271 999
Imagine what those magic sunglasses on They Live would show about people now. An awesome premise for a movie. We'll miss ya Rowdy.
