why is the rail on the right side of a hand guard?

Most people are right handed, the fingers of their left hand will be on the right side. Your fingers are easily able to operate a switch/pressure switch, such as for a flashlight or laser.

Thumb seems more natural to me, but to each his own. I figured it was because the right side of most guns is more interesting to photograph so the shops put most of the doo dads there to show off.

maybe i'm making this too hard but i am right handed and want to keep my right hand on the trigger while my left hand operates a light on the left side.

or do you go under the gun or do a gangster lean to operate the switch. seems awkward to me.

As a correct handed person I am very offended by this thread, all you wrong handed people need to go to retraining camp.

Be sure to send me 10 dollars each to make up me being offended.
