Saiga 5.45 ejection pattern

Recommended Posts

New to this forum, have a question about where the spent casings are thrown-- My Arsenal (5.45) tosses them about 4:00, and my new plain jane Saiga 5.45 cases are closer to 2:00!! Is this a possible problem? They both shoot great and function fine, Arsenal has about 1500 rounds thru it the Saiga is new with 50 rounds thru. Any thoughts? Thanks!

There are a lot of reasons why rifles might eject differently.

- Ejector positioned differently

- Extractor claw wear different

- Extractor claw spring strength different

- Chamber wear (loose vs tight) or laquer thickness on shell casings different

etc..

If it ejects and shoots reliably, I would not worry.
