Bye bye .223.... for now

Recommended Posts

Stripped her down and sent her off yesterday.  FINALLY!

Cutting the front sight at welding to the BG, chopping to 14.5 and welding the brake.

Already can't wait to get it back.

gonna throw a bastard on there?

A mag conversion is in the plans.  Which one and when, I don't know.  All depends on those dollars and right now I don't have many.

The other one is pretty nice too, I think I like the way they did the BHO on it better.

You had me worried for a second until I opened up the thread.

I like my long 20" for now but need to put some threads on the business end for whatever I decide to screw on the end.

Regardless, can't wait to see the finished product.

I'd love to have a 20"er to go along with this one.

Just a heads up, if you're sending it to the same place you mentioned in an earlier thread, that's where I had mine done and I was quoted about 4 weeks but it took closer to 8.  However quality was great and I was charged less than originally quoted so I'm not complaining, just wanted let you know my experience.

I've heard expect longer than quoted wait times. :( worth the wait though I guess.

Funny, he did give me a lower number when I was there than on the phone.

are you sure you don't just want the smith to install a CR combo block?

CNC Warrior makes their extended 4-pc brake just for this setup.. You can pin the shell to the FSB and still access the muzzle for cleaning

I wanted to thread for an AR brake.  Everything I'd been looking at seemed like I was pretty much stuck with this option.

Well I tried to hold out.  Called Ken yesterday and he said give him a couple more weeks.  cry.gif

I feel your pain. But in the end it was well worth it for me.

I am sure it will be.

Birthday is the 14th. Hoping to have it by then. Would make a nice bday gift to myself.

Update:
With Griffin Armament releasing the information on their new Optimus multi-cal suppressor, I purchased a Griffin taper mount brake to be installed rather than the Rainier Arms.

Luckily Ken hadn't started it so he's installing the new one.

However, HE'S STILL not started my gun.  sad.png

Please do a review on that can. There is a good chance it or a similar thing will be my first. Thanks.

I am sure it will be a while before I am able to get it but I will once I do.

That is bas ass!

I need to start playing with mine again.  Unfortunately, I have more ideas than cash right now.  Kids are expensive.

Let us know how she shoots.  Bet you can't wait to try her out.

That Zhukov is growing on me, it really looks good on the rifle.

Do you get a co-witness with the PA MD?

Doesn't quite co-witness. Close, but no cigar.

FWIaw, I don't care.
