sixshooter 4
Does anyone have an opinion on the Century Arms Fury 12G (Catamount Fury). I see the magazine inlet is different from the Fury 1 and Fury 2. What are your thoughts?
InTTruder 11
Mine is disgustingly reliable. The Fury 1 uses rock-and-lock Saiga-like (prioprietary) magazines. The Fury 2 uses the VEPR system iirc. Here are two pics of mine, made yesterday. Mods are in-progress, mostly CSS gear. Edited March 2, 2016 by InTTruder
gunfun 3,931
In other places you say it is not reliable with lighter loads. To fairly answer his question, you should have said so here too. The mags are dimensionally different from the Saiga 12-030/ Vepr style mags too. Mechanically, they both have S12 IZ-109 style gas.
waltham_41 52
I just test fired my NIB old stock Catamount Fury 2 straght of the box. wiped the outside of the gun off and loaded and fired... Shot 20 rds of Federal 2 3/4 inch 1 1/8 oz #7 1/2 shot target loads. Gas setting on 2.... 20 shots with no problems at all. Im thinking im going to keep this one, convert it and have fun with it. I REALLY like that LRBHO feature and the magwell. Edited March 7, 2016 by waltham_41
InTTruder 11
GunFun is correct-Unmodified, it usually short-strokes (FTE) light birdshot such as #8 field loads. It has never faltered on full-power slugs and 00 or BB. It is, after mods , disgustingly reliable. I haven't tested it with #8 however- the 1100 ran all that stuff off. As is more or less normal Winchester Super Target were a no go.
InTTruder 11
I've since installed a TAC-47 autoplug (not seen in pic). I'll have a report hopefully this weekend. Initial snapshots (2 rounds of #8) were successful. I've not polished the internals yet, either. I'm hoping for that "Straight from China" reliability without resorting to smoothing. However, given the work done to Saigas and VEPRs, I won't find it odd if we wind up polishing some of the rails, the BC, and bolt.
