XD45 7,124
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/05/opinion/end-the-gun-epidemic-in-america.html?_r=0 Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens. BlackHeart762 288
That may get past the morons in New York, and the liberal welfare states. But I think the bulk of gun owners will be disinclined to comply with unconstitutional seizure of their constitutionally protected property. BH
Rhodes1968 1,638
Have many people gone from "dont do this it will cause a civil war" to "just do it already so this can be sorted out but just shutup" to "do it bunky if ya got the nerve" There is a forth but lets not go there. Or is it all three at once?
james lambert 3,059
I would hope people will stand up against the destruction of our society and the abuse of the constitution. But the government is MASS breeding and importing dependents (democrat voters, and undocumented democrat voters). How the few that work and pay taxes can continue....I just dont know

HB of CJ 1,263
I for one find it rather strange that some non intelligent newspaper people would advocate killing the very thing that lets them stay in business ... and keep their lives. Do they even think for a moment that if the Second Amendment is weakened or defeated, THEY will IMMEDIATELY LOSE their 1st Amendment rights and be the very first useful idiots to go against the wall? Maybe they have not thought it through. Just me.
JDeko 792
I really don't have much hope at this point. The mass public has exceeded my expectations of how stupid they can be time and time again in the 11 years my brain has been more or less formed and capable of understanding civics and politics. I can easily imagine "AWB 2: Ban Harder" and can totally imagine the masses that elected chocolate Jesus twice to take it and like it. Best I can imagine that point on is for there to be pockets of resistance and a thriving black market which leads to something like alcohol prohibition which ends after a few years. Worse case is that it turns into a full on guerrilla war and when all the rebels are dead the government just trumpets "look at all these dead domestic terrorists! these are what gun owners really look like!" there is no amount of public stupidity or cowardice that would surprise me at this point.

Without the second amendment, every other one is nothing more than empty promises and ink on a piece of paper. Without the 2A, Neville Chamberlain might as well have written the Constitution.

They quit caring about rights a long time ago. They're on the government payroll and have been for a long time. They're a propaganda machine and won't bother to wake up until they've ran so deep into socialism and the impending economic collapse that inevitably follows socialism, that their basic comforts begin to fail. Of cours by then those writers will have been retired and dead.

G O B 3,516
Time to start talking about a "Million ARMED men march". I said TALK about it, just the Idea may wake some idiots up. To be an AMERICAN means to be willing to FIGHT for our freedoms.
Rhodes1968 1,638
Has anyone pointed out that all the "anti-Free Speech" activity is taking place in "gun free zones"? One must wonder at the connection.
james lambert 3,059
They only care about the rights they like. Everything else is "outdated" or not meant for modern times according to them. They dont really understand their own first amendment, or the responsibility that comes with it. The real problem is the media see themselves as part of the elite, with their celebrity, fame and money. That in their eyes puts them above the law, so they couldn't possibly suffer if the constitution is ignored on our part. But try to put up a windmill in THEIR back yard
DLT 1,646
I'm all for a million armed man march. One in every state so they get the message loud and clear. Enough trampling of the rights of gun owners. The media won't like it and make every effort to demonize. They'll probably even plant their own anti gunners in the crowd. But if people don't start standing up, and defending their rights as Americans, the grabbers and lefties will get their wish.
james lambert 3,059
I wonder just how many members contribute to NRA and other pro 2a organizations. And how many vote and contribute time or money to pro candidates. Just curious, I know there are but a few active members in comparison to registered members
Wolverine 10,360
I wonder just how many members contribute to NRA and other pro 2a organizations. And how many vote and contribute time or money to pro candidates. Just curious, I know there are but a few active members in comparison to registered members Now is a good time to sign up or extend NRA membership as dues are going up at the first of the new year. I extended for another five years on top of the 18 months I had left out of the last five year term. I also signed up for NGAR in 2015 and have already paid my 2016 membership fee. GOA is next. Now about the politicians...... I vote at the booth. Edit: Joined GOA by donating $50 to GOA at 4pm EST today.
HB of CJ 1,263
Gun Owners Of America works also. Also Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms. Also do not forget your state based pro firearm groups. All politics start at home.
