If you are not in the business of selling firearms for profit, you don't need a license.

 

As far as internet sales, "...a collector or hobbyist may use the internet and other communication technology to sell a firearm without a license...".

 

Obviously depending on the government following their own guidelines in this document.

Agreed this is all how it was before.. Nothing changed.

 

Honestly they clarified a few things that would make me less worried about dumping something if I get bored with it.

Actually that defense has failed in the past. The prosecution made the case that just because a business makes bad decision and fails to make profit, that it is still in fact a business.

Noticed they said "engaged in business". No longer for means of income. As it used to specify.

Also this could just be feel good double talk to make the gun control lobby sheep think that something was done when it wasn't.

President Obama is on a mission to undermine your 2nd Amendment rights.


 


Last week, he unveiled a series of executive actions that would limit Americans’ ability to buy and sell guns.


Here is a breakdown of what his actions will do:


 


Expanded Background Checks: Obama’s action would expand the definition of someone who is in the “business of selling firearms” and increase regulations on any transfer or sale of guns. It would also force gun sellers to keep meticulous records on every person who purchases a gun and run a background check on the buyer before the sale. This new regulation is threatening those selling guns with jail time and hundreds of thousands of dollars of fines.


430 New Gun Control Agents: The Administration is proposing to hire an additional 430 agents, 200 for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and 230 for the FBI to ramp up these background checks.


Mental Health: The White House is proposing spending $500 million to identify and restrict the 75,000 people in the United States with documented mental health issues. The proposed language leaves the door open for veterans struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues could have their 2nd Amendment rights dramatically restricted.


“Gun Safety” Technology: Obama’s administration is looking to increase spending on new forms of gun safety technology – such as fingerprint scanners, radio-frequency identification, and microstamping. This development could set a dangerous precedent for future regulations of firearms manufacturing.


 


President Obama’s gun grab is threatening our liberty, dishonoring the Constitution and increasing the size of government and the regulatory state.

Obama Continues to Wreak Havoc on Gun Rights

Under Obama’s new amorphous standards, even the sale of a single gun could land you in prison.

On one hand, Obama wants to turn collectors and hobbyists into “gun dealers.”  On the other hand, under Clinton-era policies, he won’t give licenses to collectors and hobbyists without “bricks-and-mortar” storefronts.  

So the liar-in-chief is trying to set a trap in which collecting firearms is effectively outlawed.

 

Second, there's Obama’s 200 new ATF agents proposed, not to arrest the violent drug dealers he wants to release on the streets, but rather to feed more 4473’s into Obama’s burgeoning national gun registry.

Then there are the efforts to:

* Use taxpayer dollars to develop “smart gun” technology, which would ultimately be required;

* Slap gun loss reporting requirements on the gun industry that could easily entrap large dealers; and

* Impose new rules to strip 4.2 million seniors of their gun collections.

Obama has declared war on gun owners.  It’s now time to strike back.

Here’s How We Can Hit Obama Where it Hurts!

President Obama is looking for a “legacy” piece of legislation to help salvage his flailing presidency.

During his State of the Union Address on Tuesday, he expressed his desire to “work together this year on bipartisan priorities like criminal justice reform ....” 

The “reform” bill he wants is the sentencing bill that has a lot of Republican support in the Congress (H.R. 4321/S. 2123).

In fact, the Republican Judiciary Committee Chairman in each chamber -- Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and Virginia Rep. Bob Goodlatte -- are leading the charge on this legislation.

But truly constitutional conservatives like Ted Cruz of Texas and Jeff Sessions of Alabama have opposed this legislation -- and even voted against the bill in the Judiciary Committee.

These pro-gun Senators oppose the sentencing reform for good reason.

This legislation would increase prison sentences for gun owners, at the same time as it lets tens of thousands of drug dealers loose on the streets.  

And it could come up in the Senate in a few weeks.

Which leads us to an obvious conclusion:  If Mitch McConnell brings up the anti-gun sentencing bill, senators MUST amend it to repeal Obama’s anti-gun “executive actions.”

It’s bad enough that Republicans are pushing this anti-gun bill, while seeking our votes.  

But to pass Obama's anti-gun “legacy” sentencing bill, while doing NOTHING about the unconstitutional anti-gun executive actions which Republicans claim to oppose would tell us, once and for all, that the GOP is as contemptuous of the Second Amendment as the Democrats are.

 

So please contact Senator Ted Cruz.  Thank him for opposing the anti-gun sentencing bill.  And urge him to offer amendments to defund every element of Obama’s illegal “executive action” if Majority Leader Mitch McConnell forces the bill to the floor.

And contact Senator Mitch McConnell.  Tell him that you are opposed to moving the anti-gun “Obama legacy” sentencing bill at the same time

Obama is spitting on the Constitution through his unlawful “executive actions.”  

 

Please take action today!  At the very least, this anti-gun bill needs to go to the floor with amendments outlawing every part of Obama's anti-gun executive action.

BOYCOTT KATIE COURIC'S HIT PIECE

 
EPIX SPREADING LIES

 

 


On May 15, Epix aired a Katie Couric movie entitled “Under the Gun” on its cable network. We were presented with yet another hit piece filled with lies being perpetrated by the anti-2nd Amendment community. Along with agenda-driven editing of an interview with members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), Couric elected to completely ignore information from a four-hour interview conducted by the producers with respected gun statistics researcher John Lott.
 

The movie’s editing bias is being recounted in the mainstream media, with stories on CNN, National Review and the Washington Post. One needs only peruse the web site promoting the movie to see where its anti-gun vitriol emanates. Supporters of the film include the Brady Campaign and Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown group, as well as several other known anti-gun groups.

 

Shady Editing
In part of the movie, a VCDL group is asked by Couric: “If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?” A prolonged silence was shown following the question. However, in actual fact, her question was immediately answered by one of the VCDL members as evidenced by an audio file published by the Washington Free Beacon

Couric has publicly supported the editing of the film so one wonders how much more “artistic license” was taken with the actual interview.

Ignoring the Facts
Noted gun statistics researcher John Lott reported he participated in a four-hour interview with one of the film’s producers. According to Director Stephanie Soechtig in an article in The Guardian: “His research has been criticized and largely discredited, and when we went to include it in the film, it felt like unnecessary real estate to put in the film, because we know his research has been debunked many times. We kept going back to the idea that we wanted to reserve the real estate in the film for the responsible gun owners.”

“Debunked?” Lott remains one of the most respected researchers on firearms and while several anti-gun groups have taken exception to his research, none of it has ever been debunked.

The articles’ titles pretty much tell the story, but the details go something like this: Couric has produced a documentary promoting gun control. Lest there be any confusion on that point, the documentary’s website says that its partners include Everytown, Moms Demand Action, the Brady Campaign, the Violence Policy Center, the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, and other anti-gun groups. And it urges people to “Reject the NRA” and to contact lawmakers, urging them to support background check legislation and other gun control efforts.

 

In the documentary, Couric interviews members of a local, Virginia-based pro-Second Amendment group. She asks them why they don’t support “universal” background check legislation. What is shown on camera thereafter is the interviewees sitting speechless for a full nine seconds, after which time the video cuts away, as if they never figured out an answer and the cameraman gave up and turned the camera off. The implication? Couric had proven once and for all that gun control opponents are incapable of producing a single argument against gun control.

 

But an audio-only tape of the interview, available here, proves that several of those being interviewed answered Couric immediately and at considerable length. Couric’s team simply deleted their answers, and inserted the “speechless” video footage in their place.

 

The articles linked above make clear that Couric and her director, Stephanie Soechtig, set out not to “document” anything, but to persuade viewers to adopt their anti-gun views. All of this reminds us that Couric is the same political activist that she has always been, first as a “journalist” that would bend the truth to propagandize audiences, and now as a “filmmaker” that will do the same. 

 

According to CNN, Couric says she is “very proud of the film.” Her hubris notwithstanding, it remains to be seen if Couric’s legacy is forever tainted – as it should be – from her attempt to mislead the American public into believing a false narrative on gun control.

Sure I do and he is the exception that proves the rule.

We remember him because even being a commie no one would know it from his journalism on air though his story selection does show some bias.

 

Now compare that with his junior contemporary Dan Rather.

Or his predecessor Hearst who ruined people daily just to make himself richer. 

No there never was any widespread outbreak of integrity in the journalism business just a few good ones that have long passed.

I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now. 

Evil struck on Sunday morning. It was the largest shooting massacre on American soil, as 50 people were gunned down at an Orlando bar.

Sadly, President Obama and Hillary Clinton are now blaming guns.

The ACLU is blaming Christians. 
How ironic that anti-gun liberals never seem to want to blame the actual perpetrator.
The fact is that the killer was filled with hate. He pledged his support to ISIS while on the phone with 9-1-1.
No amount of gun control would have been able to prevent him from finding instruments to funnel his hatred.

Gun Control Does Not Stop an Evil Heart
Remember how Julio Gonzalez -- using matches and gasoline-- killed 87 innocent victims in a Bronx bar in 1990?
It’s a sad reminder that the instruments used in crime -- such as matches or AR-15s -- are not to blame. 
No, people with evil intentions are to blame.
And it’s not, as anti-gun liberals claim, the supposed “easy access” to firearms which is responsible for mass murder.
Hundreds of people were murdered or injured by armed Islamic terrorists in Paris last November, despite the fact that France has far stricter gun control laws.

Kenya also has greater restrictions on firearms, but saw 147 students gunned down at a university last year.
And 50 Chinese were murdered last September in a coal mine -- not with guns, but with knives.
The President wants more gun control, even though gun control failed to keep people safe on Sunday morning.
Consider that Florida gun owners are not allowed to carry in any establishment that serves alcohol.

So Gun-Free Zones failed.
And the Orlando murderer passed several background checks -- he was a licensed security guard -- and bought his guns legally.
He was even investigated, and cleared, by the FBI.

So background checks failed.
What does work is allowing the potential victims -- that is, the real first responders -- to defend themselves with firearms.

Good Guys Stop Mass Shootings
One year ago this month, a disgruntled man was hoping to inflict severe carnage in a Youngstown bar.
Thankfully, there was a bar employee with a concealed carry permit who shot the gunman several times, killing him.
That’s how you stop mass shooters dead in their tracks.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Tuesday that passing gun control laws is now “part and parcel of homeland security” in an interview on CBS This Morning.In the segment which was flagged by Politico, Johnson said this was the first time he had vocalized such a belief publicly. President Obama and congressional Democrats have made a renewed pushfor gun control laws in the wake of the Orlando terrorist attack on a gay nightclub that left 49 people dead.
Johnson, who made a series of media appearances Tuesday, was asked by left-leaning host Gayle King what it would take to get gun control laws passed in the United States.
“What will it take to move the needle when it comes to gun control?” she asked. “People thought it would be Sandy Hook.”
“You’re asking me about gun control. I am not anxious to plunge into yet another difficult, contentious issue like the ones I already have,” Johnson said. “I do believe, however, that meaningful, responsible gun control is now part and parcel of homeland security. It’s critical to public safety, but we have to face the fact that meaningful, responsible gun control has to be part of homeland security as well, given the prospect of homegrown, home-born violent extremism in this country.”
Democrats have made a push in Congress to prevent people on the terror watch list from buying an “assault weapon.” CBS host Charlie Rose asked Johnson if he felt the same.
“Well, a number of people have made the point that individuals who are on our no-fly list, who are on various other lists, who are able to purchase a weapon in this country … I believe that’s something that has to be addressed,” Johnson said.
“With great respect, Mr. Secretary, you are head of Homeland Security. What do you think?” Rose asked.
“I believe that meaningful, responsible gun control is part of homeland security, and it’s something we have to address,” Johnson said.
King asked if this was a new public stance for him.
“I have not talked about gun control publicly at this point, but I think that we have to face the fact that gun control is part and parcel of homeland security and how things are evolving,” Johnson said.
He added later he did not want to infringe on the rights of “responsible” gun owners.

  Mitch McConnell Says He May Be ‘Open’ to Post-Orlando Gun Control

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says he be may be “open” to placing new gun controls on law-abiding citizens following the terror attack on Pulse Orlando.

According to CBS News’s Steven Portnoy, McConnell has a meeting with FBI director James Comey and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on Wednesday. Portnoy Tweeted that McConnell has signaled he may be willing to consider new gun controls after that meeting.

The suspected gunman in the Orlando attack passed background checks for his guns, submitted to a waiting period before picking up his handgun, and held a Florida Security Officer license and a Statewide Firearms License. There is no word on what additional gun controls McConnell might be “open” to discussing.

Breitbart News previously reported that Secretary Jeh Johnson has already said gun control will be part of Homeland Security post-Orlando.

H.R.4748 Imported Assault Weapons Ban

As bad as all of us know a total import ban would be, it is the "fine print" of this bill that should make your blood run cold.

 

 

 

“(aa) It shall be unlawful to assemble a firearm the importation of which would be prohibited by reason of section 925(g) but for the incorporation into the firearm of one or more parts made in the United States.”.

 

It might appear that this clause closes the "loophole" allowing makers to assemble a so-called "assault weapon" out of imported parts, as long as there are a certain number of US parts.  But it doesn't say anything about imported parts.  It simply makes it illegal to assemble a firearm that would be prohibited from import regardless of the number of US parts.  So a firearm made completely in the US from completely US parts would still fall under the "imported assault weapons ban".

 

This is a complete ban on sport utility rifles and shotguns, imported or not.

 

This bill has been dormant for months but with the recent push it could come back to life.  We need to put a stake in the heart of this abomination!

But just imagine how much more room they'll have for yoga mats and badminton racquets.

They can also make their bathrooms available to any gender, and see how that works for them (Target at $10B loss later, how copy?).

 

We have rather long memory for turncoats and laydowns.

Answer: never since they priced AR-15 mag at $99 each. Still have a screen shot...
