x2delight 0
So I finished my 7.62 conversion. This might be an obvious answer but just need to be sure. When filing the little bit of the magazine catch, so far right now my mag catch locks a mag but the catch is touching the edge of the lug on the magazine. What I wanna know is that should I be filing the mag catch some more so when the catch locks the mag the catch should be going past the lip edge and touching the magazine body? I hope my question is making sense. Thanks

csspecs 1,987
The latch should touch the #2 surface, or at least get very close. Remove tiny amounts of metal at a time and remove the burrs before checking fit. You can square the surface by blackening the adjusted surface with a sharpie before testing, and rub the catch on the magazine 'lip' a couple times to remove the sharpie, the shiny side is the higher side. Don't remove to much or you magazines will wobble.
x2delight 0
That's what I thought. I was already pretty sure because seemed so obvious. But had to be sure before I filed some more. Thanks
Mullet Man 2,114
It should lock right into the corner for the most secure engagement.
