Tundra1 391
Do you still have it? Mine was a Remington Sportsman 58 16 gauge shotgun that my Grandad gave to me some 30 years ago. I was ten. I occasionally dust it off to go break some clays. Grandad would be happy.
Mullet Man 2,114
Still have it. 10yrs old and a Christmas present from my late Grandfather. An NEF single shot 20g. Still have 1 of the 5 boxes of Winchester shells that he gave me then too. It was an absolute Howitzer when I first shot it that winter. Now it's a Pea shooter.

I can still remember the smell of that first fired paper shotgun shot. About 60+ years ago or so. Our family still has that little combo firearm today. My hope is that our great grandkids will be able to use it.

tatonic 159
Don't have it any more but wish I did. Spanish. 410 single shot goose gun, the barrel was like 30". Don't remember the brand. I was given the gun when I was 12 by my aunt and Dad gave it back to her when her son Audie was old enough to shoot his Dads' gun who was the low life that left her in a remote cabin in Montana in the middle of winter with no firewood. and ran off with a chick to Alaska. Millard Fudge. My Aunt Carol, had severe arthritis from scarlet fever when she was a kid and mel married her and took her from Alabama to Montana. Audie is a super guy who has the qualities that his dad was missing. It was a beautiful gun and super accurate. I used to clip mistletoe off at the base for Christmas. forsaken352 235
I was about 5 or 6, and it was a Christmas gift from my parents. It's a Marlin 60 Stainless Steel. It is the one and only firearm which means so much to me that I will never sell or trade it. When I was around 12, my parents gave me a 20 gauge NEF as another Christmas gift, which I did sell, and I do regret that. Can only hope it's in good hands wherever it ended up. Sim_Player 1,939
I'm not from a gun background either.. I'm starting a new family trend. My first gun was a very old 12 gauge, traded for an almost new S&W Model 3000. Our son turns 21 in 3 months and he wants a pistol. He's researching. He almost has enough in savings for a .50 BMG! I'm so proud! Edited February 22, 2016 by Sim_Player

G O B 3,516
First gun BOUGHT was a Marlin 60, Still have it, so many rounds went thru it that the ejector block crumbled. Not an uncommon problem, the old style blocks have been unavailable for years. We made BP muskets from water pipe in 5th grade (home made black powder makes more smoke and fire than bang,BP from fireworks was only slightly better) , and zip guns in 7th grade.
