ATI Scorpion Grip... Need Help!

Recommended Posts

Alright I got the scorpion grip for my converted S12.... You figure the install would be very simple but of course i run into problems.   When I tighten the screw that came with the grip onto and grip nut it will not make the grip tight.  You can move the grip around while it's mounted on the gun.  I don't want to sound stupid but I'm lost.  I got so mad at it last night I put it up and said I'll make a new forum tomorrow haha... Any info will help thanks guys!!

If you are using the billet trigger guard from CSS on your conversion, it is not tapped all the way through and your pistol grip screw is bottoming out. Get a shorter screw or change out the trigger guard and use a separate PG nut and screw.

You have the Tromix trigger guard with integrated grip nut. Take off the pistol grip and look at the trigger guard where the grip nut screw screws in. You will find that the integrated nut has a bottom. In other words you can only screw the grip screw in so far before it bottoms out. You will need a shorter grip screw to keep it from bottoming out before tightening down the PG against the receiver.

You see the raised area around the nut? The scorpion grip has a notch that fits around it, but it's a tight fit. Either start the screw then wiggle and press it on firmly, or file the notch a bit wider. I have the same setup and my screw was fine.
