menace667 194
Man the smithsonian wants it. I can see it now, the red slippers from OZ, a wooly mammoth, the Geroge Zimmerman "dirty sanchez"9mm. Seems like a natural fit to me.
G O B 3,516
It would sell for a LOT more, if Zimmerman would also use it to commit suicide!

netpackrat 566
I still think Zimmerman is a normal dude who tried to do the right thing for his neighborhood, and got boned. If the shooting had involved two white guys, Zimmerman would still be free, but none of us would have ever heard of him. Because his case became political, the guy's certainly still got huge legal bills, so I can't blame him for trying to get what he can out of his pistol, which he has doubtless replaced long since (can't blame Gunbroker for not wanting the attention, either). I've interacted with at least one person who has met him (and his brother), and the word was he is basically a decent guy. Also, this is another way he can give the middle finger to those who have tried to destroy his life, so at this point I can't really hold that against him, either. If I had as many people who wanted me dead or in jail, and I was still alive and free, I'd probably do the same just out of spite.
randumbthoughts 75
They don't want this kind of attention. All in all, I think it worked out well for Gunbroker. They got a ton of free advertising, and canceled the auction 1 minute before start so that their hands were clean. They definitely made use of the attention. I understand where you are coming from, but if his firearm had killed a white dude, it would be worthless due lack of media attention. Zimmerman has shown a repeated lack of sound judgement after the fact, which makes me question the soundness of his judgement the evening in question. The dude is definitely a douche and attention whore. That said Trayvon's lifestyle also showed a complete lack of sound judgement and was bound to get him dead sooner or later. Fortunately for him and the narrative is was sooner than later by a Latino guy the media could brand as white. If it had not happened this way Trayvon would have never been known by name. Just another victim of black on black crimes that kill dozens of blacks every night in the US.

netpackrat 566
It was the stuff the guy did after the fact, that is out of bounds I guess you must mean the stuff he did after his life was ruined by the media and democrats (redundancy alert), who abused the legal system to prosecute a case that should never have gotten to trial? I don't think any of us who haven't been vilified and defamed on that sort of scale are qualified to pass judgement on him. Much of the stuff that people call out of bounds was caused by a nutjob stalker that was actively trying to set things up so he could kill Zimmerman and then claim self-defense. And most of the rest was due to whackjob women who may or may not have been "encouraged" to set him up.

Zimmerman encounter like the old joke "Traveling rapist attempts to abduct hitchhiking serial killer, is killed," that Zimmerman was one soft push away from killing someone anyway and mr aspiring burglar picked the wrong "cracker" to assault. i still think that Zimmerman was always unhinged but his recent actions have most likely been exacerbated by his life being constantly in danger for protecting his own life.

Sometimes I wonder how people can even say the shit that they do... One soft push? His attacker jumped him, had him flat on his back and was straddling him, bashing his head into the pavement. If you think that's "one soft push" then I guess I don't even know what to say to you. You start a physical fight with a dude who is lawfully carrying a gun, whether its a cop or an armed citizen, the worst thing you can do is start to win, because you put the guy into a situation where he either has to escalate it to deadly force, or risk being beaten to death (or crippled).
