Vice is aggressive (love it) but, I hate that they bash Conservatism.

Their reporters probably just have'nt been alive long enough to gain perspective.

Vice and other newsgroups always are surprised when an unsustainable system collapses.. They are not old or wise enough to see the pattern.

At the end of the day, they forget that things are made by people and people want to get paid.. So there is no free anything, food, water, electricity, security.. Everything has to be paid for, if it is not made in your own country then it is siphoning money out of your country..

Socialism requires that people work harder than they get paid for, so that other people who will not can benefit equally.

3000+ years ago it was written in the bible that when the stupid one and the lazy do not go hungry that calamity is coming.

Because it is our nature to see lazy people not suffering and then we question why we have to work so hard.

Socialism runs counter to human nature. And it will always fail for that reason.

All economies are an ebb and flow, where gains are met with eventual losses but socialism is the exception where it begins a decline and never recovers due to lack of desire and innovation.

When the public has no reason to put forth extra effort, missing reward which from birth is the driving factor for humans, things stagnate quickly yet the youth in many areas push for this because they lack the basic human drive and instead want things without having to work for it. The irony to it all is as they mature and age they learn the error of their ways but there is already a new generation of youth ready to take their place in the handout line so the cycle continues.

Here in America the young are trying their hardest to see the same thing happen. They hear "free, free, free" from politicians mouths and believe it instead of realizing that the only things free in this life for you are air and death. Air because no one has found a way to charge for it and death because you aren't around to get the bill.

All we need is a $15 minimum wage and "free" government health care and and of course a few trillion more fiat dollars printed to pay for it all and we too can be Venezuela.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Corporatism or socialism either just sucks the will to do more right out of a person.

Combine them and its just murder.  Come to think of it are they not the same thing?

Weren't several celebrities and folks on the left pointing to Venezuela as the shining example of how socialism works just a couple of years ago? Where are all those idiots today? Somebody needs to ask them about it.

But it worked then so it was cool. Just like not making movies in certain states because people are told where to pee.

Hello

Just feelin' the Bern, baby....

If you go to the DR they have a pill you can take to clear that right up. In the old days it was an antibiotic, but now it is antipsychotics. Man America has changed.

Fidel and Raul know where the money is hidden that was bled from Venezuela. My how these thugs hang together. Kind of reminds me of the Clinton's.

My wife's family are living this fucking nightmare. Smack in the middle of it.

My little niece and nephew have gone ten days on two pounds of rice their parents managed to get on the black market. We send them money and dollars are like gold over there but there simply are no products to be had.

Supermarkets are state run and completely empty, no electricity, no running water, no propane to cook with. My sister in law found some old wooden furniture to burn so she could cook the rice.

The populace keeps trying to have an uprising but without weapons other than sticks, rocks and bottles to throw they're pretty fucked. That article in the OP talks about the police sent out to protect the people, BULLSHIT. The government is trying to shut down the opposition of a starving population.

These people have no hope and nothing left to lose, this ain't gonna end well.

It's time for them to take weapons from the authorities and march on the govt. buildings.

Petrol + bottle + rag + fire

The people are just hoping for a peaceful outcome. God bless them, in that.

Their military will align. They are starving now too.

EVERY nation is now facing the same, thanks to a global economy, IMHO. Just at different stages.

Notice how American Media is not covering this.

Down the rabbit hole, we go....

What's sad is that it will take a social uprising where the unarmed are slaughtered to get international intervention. It is just a matter of when a large group decides their lives are worthless and they prefer to die on their feet than starve in their shanties. What is even worse is the media has completely ignored this travesty so as not to show the weakness of socialism during an election year full of socialists.

Notice how Anti-American Media is not covering this.

Fixed.

Today I got paid as many of you did.  I have certain bills pay, and living expenses.  But there is some left over and that is going to hard assets as it always does.  Whether it be ammo or silver or storable food or whatever.

Just remember that a dollar is nothing unless somebody is willing to trade something of value for it.  And when times get hard, it's hard to get people to give up real assets for paper.

And even worse, numbers on a computer screen.  You think you have "money" in the bank?  You have a number on a computer screen.  Yes I have a 401k and yes I put money in it every payday.  But it is not my only retirement savings plan.  I just can't pass up the company match.  I am just hoping the system holds a while longer.  I have already resigned myself that I will lose it all if the collapse happens before I can pull it out and trade it for hard assets.

Funny you say that. I read an article yesterday where the AG office is requesting all banks to call the poise directly for any withdraws of $5000 or more so they can come and question you directly for its use and possible confiscation. Also, banks are putting limitations in place on their own to limit their liability at any to given time regardless of the burden on their customers/members. Basically, you can have all the money you want but not actually have access to it without Uncle Sam checking up on it. Having precious metals on hand is a far better long term strategy, but sadly they have no immediate value except to exchange for paper money or barter if the world crumbles.

Precious metals always have value.  Which doesn't mean that should be your only asset.

Store things you know you'll need.  Things others will need or want.  Guns, ammo, food, water, water purification, radios, propane, seeds, antibiotics, alcohol, tools, building supplies, traps, fishing equipment, books, solar panels, anything of value that can be stored long term.

Food is the killer.  You need food every day and it's impossible to store enough.  People see the shelves full at their local grocery store and they think food will always be available.  Most don't realize that it only takes hours for the shelves to empty in an emergency.  Do you have at least a month of stored food?

And most never give a thought to what happens if they turn on the faucet and no water comes out.  Or contaminated water comes out.  What then?  Do you have stored water?  Equipment to purify water?

We are so reliant on the fragile infrastructure for our food, water, power, fuel...  It's easy to simply assume it will always be there.  It's comfortable.

But nothing lasts forever.  Some kinds of disasters happen without warning like earthquakes.  Some you get a few hours warning like tsunamis.  Some you get a few days warning like hurricanes.  And some give you years or even decades of warning signs.

We as a race tend to worry for those that shock us instantly, but become complacent to those that take time to occur. Certain scientists have said for years that we have overextended the planets resources and are outgrowing earth, yet we still continue a population boom and the answer is to send people to other planets to rape them as opposed to being responsible for the one we have.

As far as resources and availability, large cities are doomed from the gate. Smaller rural areas offer far more opportunity for survival as there tends to be game to hunt, bodies of water to access, and enough land that vegetation can support the populous so I am happy to be in a place such as that. In time of crisis using the natural resources around you will be key to survival and lacking the knowledge for using them or the access to them guarantees a hard time

I imagine the folks in Venezuela could use a few at the moment. It would probably be much easier to find this stash.

I worked in Venezuela in 2012. Those were the good times. We are off of Guerria point about 20 miles south of Trinidad in some stinky river..couldn't get rice, couldn't get eggs, soap, beef, the fish they did get was really nasty... the workers were really happy to be therebecause it was better than being home. They'd always lose stuff to slow the job down. Honestly I'm not really sorry for them now.

I hope that people in this country are paying very close attention to this. This IS America's future if we continue down the road we are on. Did you ever think a self identifying avowed Socialist would even have a shot at a presidential nomination? Or a Supreme court that with one additional appointment would interpret the 2nd Amendment out of existence? Here we stand in 2016 with both possible realities. Look how much has changed in only seven years. Imagine another 10 years if the current direction is not corrected. Let it be a lesson for us that the day we give up our firearms, is the day we resign ourselves to hunger, poverty, and bondage to our own government.

I hate to be "that guy" but I'm kinda used to it. It's not gonna happen. They won't pay attention. People are condemned to viewing the grass as greener on the other side. They see the slow demise of Denmark and confuse it for a successful model. Though even with the Danes more progressive mentality and patriotism that has slowed their crash. They fail to realize their own despise for the USA and the policies that made it the world's first true super power, are exactly what will expedite the demise they deny.

It won't be until their starving will they start to care or desire change

The real issue I have with the SCOTUS is that a court makes a ruling based on the constitution and then a few years later the same court, SCOTUS, has new members and a totally different interpretation of the same thing. Never was that court meant to be politically charged or biased, but as you say," here we are". The SCOTUS is charged with interpreting the constitution as it was written and apply it to modern law, not completely change a meaning to fit a political agenda and ignore the need for a convention to do away with a right.

Either the court needs to be done away with or a major reform needs to happen taking it back to what it was originally intended to be in order to save our country. Politicians will always be dirty pieces of crap and the court was supposed to be the blind beacon of hope for all mankind, but instead it has turned into a travesty that lacks the very basic fundamentals upon which it was devised.
