Spacehog 2,218
My thanks and my children's thanks will always go out as we remember those who have fallen defending this nation and our freedoms. Make sure it is passed down to your children and children's children as well. We are only one generation from forgetting.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
I noticed a gentleman today who was a Purple Heart recipient. I got up, thanked him, shook his hand, offered him an hour of my life, and gave him my contact info. These men were not far from the ultimate sacrifice for us. I figure the least I can do is show some thanks and sacrifice a little of my time to help if I can. The sad thing is that as we honor the fallen there are those who seek to demonize their efforts and sacrifice. We have to be louder.

Sim_Player 1,939
Today, I came across a video of US Army Rangers jumping out of 5 different C-17s, in formation. All bright-eyed, professional troops. It made me very proud of this next generation and all of the men and women that they follow. My time in the service was very brief (4 years) but, it gave my life a stable kick-start (a wonderful wife and two beautiful kids). Clinton was untrustworthy, IMHO, so I left military service. I mourn the ones that never got what I did. The Bible says not to pray for the dead so, I will pray for the souls that we send into harm's way, instead. jerry52 893
I was asked by the family to speak at the memorial of A 95 year old ww2 navy vet who became a friend a few years ago. He was serving on the heavy cruiser Salt Lake City. They were out with carriers when the Japs Attacted Pearl Harbor. He was fantastic person and I was honored to speak for him. We are losing over 3300 ww2 vets a day. Let hope future generations remember what they did.

We are the Dead. Short days agoWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,Loved and were loved, and now we lieIn Flanders fields. It is the Soldier, not the lawyerWho has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, not the politicianWho has given us the right to vote. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,Who serves beneath the flag,And whose coffin is draped by the flag,Who allows the protester to burn the flag. But one who may choose to do so....better think about who he does it in front of. BH
