Irish saiga 0
Hello all .First post here so hopefully this is going in the rightr place? Ok question,I live in a country in Europe that isnt too hot on "assult style weapons" and I have a possibility o f getting my hands on a saiga12 . However to make it more easier to liscense as a civillian gun It needs to not have a "prominent pistol grip".However this one also has the trigger group moved forward to accomadate the AK style set up. Soo is there any type of civillian buttstock that will work with the tang and fwd trigger grouping? Thumb hole stocks are OK,Dragunov style are ok,normal shotgun style stocks are fine.I dont want to chop off the tangs or if possible not modify the trigger packet,as this is a brand new gun and still in a dealers inventory so I cant go shopping bits off before I buy it.Also is there a thing as a three shot mag for the Saiga for hunting? Need one of those too. Thanks in advance for any info.
Heartbreaker 1,085
ATI has a Dragunov-style thumbhole stock designed for the forward trigger group location. SGM has a 2 round magazine, or you could put a reduced capacity block in the factory 5 round mag.
pedal2alloy 206
Lots of people in the US have taken off the sporterized buttstock and the linkage for the rear trigger. Those parts have no value so you could buy them for cheap and sporterized yours
JDeko 792
ATI SVD-style buttstock is what i was going to suggest.
gunfun 3,931
Bulgarian thumbhole stock is cleaner. A bunch of people used those for NY builds because the vertical grip portion is behind the receiver. Same goes for the factory saiganov stock. Those aren't bad, and I prefer them over the monte carlo setup.
JDeko 792
his already has the trigger group moved forward though
gunfun 3,931
Hence the suggestion of the bulgy poly thumbhole. He ought to look at a lot of the california stocks too for ideas. https://www.google.com/search?q=california+AK+stock&espv=2&biw=1093&bih=534&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwihqOv61t_NAhWJKWMKHa6xABQQ_AUICCgD
evlblkwpnz 3,418
It would be easier to chop the trigger off and weld on a longer one like the AK Hunter has than to install sporter linkage.
JDeko 792
The ATI stocks fit a converted receiver and are relatively inexpensive. Seems it would save a lot of work.
