Hi, New to S-12

Recommended Posts

Hi, New to S-12

I'm not new to guns, but very uninformed on S12

I'm looking to learn a lot.

I can contribute info that is AR15 related

I'm looking to ID just what model I picked up.

google mentions 108/109

What's what and how do I tell one from the other?

typical cant/izmash markings

RWC

19" barrel

Threaded

No choke

Side rail mount

Left side

PC = mx03

M&M = 12

Right side 12/76     18.3

Unconverted

Unmarked quad rail that allows use of iron sights

Phoenix fire breacher muzzle device

Is there a photo uploader on this site?

Quad rail and door breacher were added.

everything else sound like the typical S12 19 inch gun.

same gun I started my 12 inch build with marking wise.

Who imported your gun?

Mine is out of Tullytown PA.  Same state I live in.

So that is kinda kool.

As far as what the numbers mean? I have no clue.....

Others here eat breath and sleep the S12 and entire line of Saiga guns.

Thanks all, for the helpful info.

I need to finish up 2 other projects,

Then I will convert it.

I was looking at the CSS pistol grip kit and was steered away from the css trigger guard.

I would prefer a more traditional style kit. Any recommendations/suggestions.

Along with that... a more traditional kit would call for rivets and I am not so equipped.

Are there any screw in options that would allow classic trigger guard and pistol grip mount?

Last question (for now).... is the saiga 12 compatible with "standard" ak furniture a la Zuhkov?

CSS has two different trigger guards that both use screws, you pick which one you want when buying. One is a fairly standard loop shape (Carolina SS) and the other is angled (Tromix DIY).

From what I've heard, the Magpul AK stocks will fit with minor modifications, the handguards will NOT fit without extensive modification, and the AK grips will fit the aforementioned trigger guards. I did modify the AK MOE handguard to fit my gun, but it was an involved project.

Now that ya got pix UP!

I see what you mean by unconverted.

I was under the impression that it was stock furniture with a quad rail and muzzle brake added.

Ya you need to get that trigger moved forward ,that thing looks funky with the PG and stock on with everything else in import mode.
