ChileRelleno 7,074
My first smoked Thanksgiving Turkey.Turned out pretty danged good if I do say so myself, and so did the family. Not too pretty, the way they injected solution made the skin tear during cooking, but I'm not eating the aesthetics of the bird. The skin wasn't crispy/crunchy, but it wasn't chewy either, a perfect median of scrumptious flavor.Juicy, tender and delicious, great smoke/rub flavor.Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!#18 BirdBrinedSpatchcockedButter under skinGenerously rubbedButter basted325' for 3.5 hours, Hickory smoke for the first hour or soRub.5C Smoked Paprika1C McCormick Montreal Chicken.25C each Seasoned salt, Garlic herb, Onion powder2T each Sage, Rosemary, Thyme and OreganoFull MenuOven Roasted TurkeySmoked TurkeyHomemade Giblet GravyRoasted HamCorn casserole, Stuffing, Green Bean casserole, Loaded Mash TatersRolls/butter, Cranberry/Apple relish, asst Fruit & Veggie traysApple, Pumpkin, Pecan, Chocolate piesPumpkin Pecan bread2hrs, 138' internal temp3.5 hours, Breast and thighs arrived at almost perfect temps at the same time.Ready for the table Edited November 25, 2016 by ChileRelleno

Cobra 76 two 2,677
Looks awesome man! Still enjoying turkey breast sammiches here from the one I smoked for Thanksgiving. The Carolina Reapers from the garden really added a nice spice to the flavor the smoke, the apple, and my custom rub imparted. For a smoked bird it was especially aesthetically pleasing I thought lol!
