evlblkwpnz 3,418
I heard about this on the radio yesterday, but can't nail down exactly what they were talking about. I took a look at congress.gov and got lost in a ton of nonsensical proposed legislation. It looks like congress spends a lot of time pushing stupid things like making sure this and that sports star is commended for this and that. Um, let ESPN handle it, for crying out loud. I'd like to not have to wade through that inconsequential BS to get to what really matters as a citizen. Anyone have a line on this proposed gun legislation? I think it is a given that we are probably looking at Nationwide carry, the mental health/SSA issue, and HPA, but was wondering what else.

gunfun 3,931
It's really simple. If you are an elected official, you always want to be able to tell your base that you supported bills for their issue. If you only want to support them half heartedly, you propose or support bills that have no chance of passing. Then you don't really have to put yourself on the line and fight for them. You can always go back to your base and say, " I supported HB_not a chance in hell of passing, but is your pet issue_"
