2011? Old news. Also notice in the article the distributor explains how to easily remove the chip. I'm not worried, there are far more relevant issues to direct my paranoia towards.

Two thoughts on the subject:

1. Just remove and microwave the chip.

2. Can we clone the chips and attach one to every damn package we send? (that would clog up any tracing attempts).
