  1. Thanks, smiley guy...since I haven't gotten the gun yet, do I have to remove a rivet in the saiga that's already there? or drill a hole? Sorry for ongoing ignorance, but that's how ya get rid of it, ask questions!
  2. OK, where do I get a bullet guide? love my saiga 12 and can get a 16-1/2" barrel 7.62X39 locally for aboutg $179...wanna get one and use ak mags...details or pics on dremel mod to mag catch/latch?
  3. Same here, got the notched blackjack for my saiga-12, had to fit it a bit, but works like a champ!
  4. Hi all...got my midway update and it shows a nice stock for the sks...just for info, will stocks to fit ak-47 fit saiga also? how about sks? Thanks.
  5. Oh yeah! 50 more rounds, no malf's. 2-3/4" trap/skeet loads (fed 100 rd box). Went to my usual spot in the woods, used by many...didn't expect company on monday, 6 other guys there...3 were shooting sks's and, first one i've seen, a bushmaster shortie, no stock, sub 16" barrel. Boy, does that sucker BARK! horrendous muzzle blast and flash, even in daytime. Seriously poor reliability, didn't get through even 1 20 rd mag without jamming...probably not holdiing tightly enough, but as they weren't particularly friendly, I didn't offer expertise/experience. They got friendlier when I pulled out the
  6. Wally World, (Wal-Mart) of all places! I found a Hogue slip on recoil pad (medium, black) #04433 which was difficult enough to get on that I'm sure it won't go anywhere....anybody else seen/used one of these? Appears to be a standard depth/construction recoil pad mated to slip on material. I work real hard at not working hard...
  7. Installed my Blackjack Buffers BHO in my saiga 12 tonight. Getting the old one out was NOT a turn it up and pull it operation. Had to pull the hammer pin so the old one could be removed because the old one was deep all the way across and operates by catching a notch in the hammer itself. The shepherd's hook spring in mine isn't a shepherd's hook, it's wound around a riveted pin BEHIND the trigger pin (several wraps), under trigger pin and over the hammer pin without being wrapped around it...sounds weird, but that's the way it is! Replacement S.W.I.F.T, with notch, is not as deep and has a p
  8. Call me thick, but what is the exact procedure for pulling the safety? is it just stuck in and ya pull it out? No spring detent or anything? Spring pressure against it somewhere along the line that would make it difficult to get back in? how about pics/diagrams as to where to trim? Thanks for putting up with what to you are basic questions.
  9. My 19" is marked full choke, but dime goes down easy...can I use a sabot slug without taking a chance on splitting the barrel? 000 buck or 00 buck safely? #1 buck is always a choice also... have bird shot for use in the house due to being in apartment and worry about over penetration liability "You own it till it stops".
  10. How hard is it to install? How long does it take?
  11. AND THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!!! Should the United States Senate support the proposed United Nations treaty that bans ownership of guns? 32%YES 68%NO Who do you think won this television debate? 68%Wayne LaPierre 32%Rebecca Peters AND THERE YA FUGGIN HAVE IT, FOLKS!! THE PEOPLE (NOT THE SHEEPLE!!!) HAVE SPOKEN!!!
  12. Thanks guys! When I said "rifled version" I meant a 7.62X39 or a .308...but now that you mention it, a fully rifled barrel for slugs would be incredible! Buffalo hunters would recognize the use of a .729 caliber 1 oz slug at 1300 fps! Installed a green blackjack buffer today, first time I had the gun all the way down and took a couple tries to get the bolt/bolt carrier back in correctly...but like most first disassembly/assembly sessions, there are things to be learned by going slowly and being observant! Also, since I'm "labor non-intensive oriented", I found a Hogue slip on recoil pad (mediu
  13. Just joined after acquiring saiga-12, 19" full choke. Love these suckers! I'm 6', 280 and rapid fire is a blast! Literally...looking into getting a rifled version. I"ve read that some of the copies on the market are sub standard quality wise and want to avoid that...opinions, rankings, experiences? Thanks Boulder, CO
