  1. Unfortunately, I will be moving to Southern Kali before the end of the year. Where can I buy a bullet button for my Saiga? Thanks H
  2. Thanks for the reply, went to the Dinzag website, but I don't see any triggers at all. Am I missing something? H
  3. Just had my 308-1 out for it's first run at 100 and 200 yards. Put the Saiga skeleton stock and a 3-12x42 scope on it. With surplus ammo she was doing 1.5" at 100yrds and 3" at 200yrds. Not bad at all! I suspect it would have done better if the trigger were better. I have to say the trigger is really crappy. Has anyone come up a trigger mod or replacement that gives at least a passable trigger? I don't want to do the AK trigger reposition. Any thoughts? H
  4. The Dinzagarms does not list a "factory" trigger for the .308. Is there a significant difference? Has anyone actually used one of these and what were the results? As for cutting the trigger off a G2 kit trigger, how exactly would that work to utilize the existing trigger and still get the benefits of swap? Thanks for the posts... Hans
  5. Did some searching on this subject but most replies seem to require a trigger relocation. I want to leave the original location in tact on my .308/21"/skeleton stock, because I will eventually end up back in California. Sooo... are there any drop in options for me to improve the trigger pull and get rid of some of the creep on a standard configuration Siaga? Even a 2 stage would be better. TIA Hans
  6. Yup... I just switched mine from the sporter to the skeleton stock, shorter by a good inch and a half.
  7. Buy high cap .308 magazine...insert...done
  8. So... I'm surprised nobody asked this question. Does the adapter mount on the gun so that the mags are simply inserted as a normal mag might be (I hope) or does the adapter mount to the mag, in which case ideally you'd need one for every mag? The later would kind of defeat the purpose of the money savings on mags.
  9. A 7.62X39 for mule deer???? I've hunted mulies in Colorado and unless your planning 100yard shot or less I would stay away from the 7.62x39. Just not enough knock down power beyond that 100yars range. Mulie shots, especially out west tend to be longer. The .308 really excells out to about 250-300 yards in knock down. I don't know about you but I really hate tracking a deer I shot that didn't go down, especially in some of the terrain out there. 1000 ft/lbs of energy is generally considered the minimum for adequate knock down of deer sized game. Your average 125grn 7.62x39 bullet only carrie
  10. Works for me, relatively cheap, available and well made mags would be just what the gun needs. But it has to be a simple straight foreward mod. Drilling and welding would not be good thing.... Hans
  11. Just got mine from CenterfireSystems.com last week. But they're out of .308's now too from the look of their site. 7.62X39's were still available last I looked. You have to check these outfits continually, inventory comes and goes. Hans

    Accuracy

Are these hand loads or store bought? OK... answered my own question, Federal Gold Medal Match are sold as complete rounds. I'd still be intersted to know if anyone has any pet handloads? Noobie, are there any mods to your trigger? or is it the standard one. Hans
  13. Thanks guys! Got word today the rifle was shipped and will be delivered to my FFL Friday. Can't wait to try her out. I'll stock up on a few mags, scope mount and scope shortly. I'll do some accuracy testing since I load my own ammo. Any body have a pet load? Hans
  14. Hello all, I've been lurking here for a while and just pulled the trigger (no pun intended) on the purchase of a 308-1. I'm looking for the barrel twist spec's. I've been on the RAA site but they have precious little tech info. I've owned several other .308's, M1a, FAL Cetme. They were all designed around a roughly 150 grain NATO spec bullet. Knowing the twist rate will give some insight into what weight bullets the thing should like for best accuracy and how it compares to some of the other semiauto 308's out there. PS. If anyone has a take off skeleton stock (RAA) laying around
