We are working on the design already, as well for the Romanian and Chinese. Get it to fit most ak's (or heck most saiga rifle caliber models), and you just broadened your market 20x FOLD! It's just good business sense. I'm already in line for mine. If you don't do it now, someone will soon.

Beat me to the question. I bought this issue of Guns & Weapons (for law enforcement) ha ha, the minute I saw it had a awesome AK set up in it. If I could run those irons and be effective, I'd do it. As long as the rail thing doesn't cost a arm and a leg. Which I'm sure it does... Sigh

How did you remove the front sight? I've looked everywhere and never found a clear answer.

Starting welding classes soon. I'll let ya know when I can weld aluminum. I plan on making a lot of custom ak rail parts anyways.

How are those higher sights working out for you? Are they too high to shoot close range? I've always thought of something similar to this. Great rifle!

I have never heard of Tapco 10 round mags. And I trust tapco ak magazines with my life so never mind the nay sayers.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'm actually going to welding school soon, and I like to tinker so it looks like I'll be making one of these things. If for nothing else, just for fun.

I've only played Modern Warfare a few times but noticed there AK with side rails was low enough to still see the iron sights with no optics on the rails. I have never seen a production model like this. If any one has let me know, I've been looking ever where for this type set up.

Norinco Really?? I had a Norinco SKS and it looked about 200% better build quality. I guess that just looks funky to me. Ha what length barrel is that, like 28 inch?? Ha

Never had any problem with all 5 of my tapco magazines. And I shoot all different brands of ammo. When you say it won't feed do you mean your bolt won't connect properly? Here are a few problems that may be causing your feeding situation. 1) Bad Magazine- Some times you just get a crappy mag, with maybe a bad spring or something. Id take it back to whoever sold it to you and get it checked out. 2) Bad Ammo- I've seen some AK's (Not Saigas) Be unable to shoot Wolf ammo. It was strange but for some reason it just would not cycle. So try a different ammo type. 3) Bullet guide- Do you have on

That trigger looks like it could stab you if you went to low on it... Yikes. And what the hell is on the left side of the receiver where the scope mount should be???? Just a block of metal. Ha
